  1. At 62 and a 12 handicap I’ve lost distance. I can work my Vokey but have lost distance. My full swing between the two Pitching wedges is 15 yards . Do I carry both ?

Forgetting the numbers/letters on the end of the heads, you wouldn't want to carry 2 clubs within the same distance. If all your clubs are reasonably gapped for distance, just pick the best 14 for the course you're playing that day.

On the off chance you have a set of irons purchased in the last 2-3 years, the set PW may be 43-44 degrees and the Vokey is 48 degrees. In that case, the set PW and the 48 are not the same club. I have a 48 Vokey PW, but my set is T-400 and the PW is 38 degrees. I also have a set "43" to fill the gap to the Vokey PW.

Welcome to the real word that most of us seniors are facing. Am 74 and can relate to lost distance with our irons. Which wedge do you feel most comfortable with? Sound like you are most happy with the results of the PW. You never stated what type of irons you are playing with. I always use the club that is getting me the best results. With respect. When I bought my new T300 irons, my fitter encouraged me to stay with the standard wedges that go with the set. I have one Vokey wedge in my set, a 58.12D. Most new clubs are stronger and it takes a while to get use to the new lofts. But I love them. He is a Titleist Product Specialist and has been with company over 25 years and I trust his judgement completely. Have been using him for years.
  4. I play 718 AP1
  5. I would agree with Don, find out the lengths of each club and ensure you have the range of distances covered...

    Cheers, Chris
  6. I play a set Pw that is 43° and think a 48° vokey gaps nicely below it on my nice easy swing. Where a bigger gap starts to form is when I swing the set wedge faster that swing speed translates to distance, but swinging the Vokey faster does not. Meaning the Vokey has a narrower range that I call upon it, whereas I account about 19 yards in the range of distances I'll select the PW, I only hit the 48° in a band about 11 yards wide.

I'm playing 46° set pitching wedge. I'm not using PW to pitches, for me is better to play full 52°.

Just save the drama and agony and get properly fit... There shouldn't be a gap of 15 yards between two PW's! I all play Vokey wedges, like the look to the complete through the set!
