Have a look through the old posts under the golf ball bit.
There has been a good number of comments regarding AVX vs pro v1 balls from members all over the world buddy.

Me I use pro v1 balls and love everything about them,
But I have on the od occasion use AVX due to winter in Scotland easier to see the yellow balls, lower flight in high winds and rain.
My only negativity would be they don’t stop / spin as good as a pro v.
You just have to adapt or vary your shots a little more.

No players on the ET use them as far as I'm aware and if it's not good enough for them, then who am I to question. Used one once, flew our 2nd green by 20 yards, granted I was coming out of semi rough but that was enough for me, right in the practise bag.
  4. I personally think these are great, I got brought a pack for Christmas and have never looked back or purchased another pro v1 since, there is not much difference for me as I hit both balls a very long way but for some reason I get along better with the AVX

    Gavin,

Plenty of comments on the AVX on here.

The key point is they're a lower spinning ball, as you can see from the shape and dimple pattern.

After playing them for most of last year I find they suit my game, as I create a lot of spin and prefer a lower flight.

If you know your game you should be able to test back to back and find the best ball for you... alternatively get a ball fitting and try the 2019 Prov1.

I've enjoyed using the AVX, definitely better in the wind for me. However I do tend to stick to the Pro V1 (and Tour Soft in the winter).

As Stuart said, I wonder why Pro's have not taken to using it.
  7. I’ve given them ago and have to say that I do like them, they definitely fly a little lower which can only help in windy conditions, will be looking forward to testing them in better weather against the pro v
