  1. New here and just wondering for those like myself who play a ball because of a specific tour player or special experience that led to you play that ball. Personally I play the X for the last 2 years as JT does and he’s been my idol for getting into the game seriously for the last year, I also think the red numbers help me visually as well. What’s your story?

    Hi Daniel,
I have been playing the Pro V1 since it ever came out. I've been caddie on tour for 10 years, I've all Pro V1 series in my cabinet. (My own museum).

But since Titleist changed the type of balls I play since the last 2 years with Pro V1x. Simply because I like the ball flight and what we call it on tour "hanging time". I do admit I lost a bit of feel. On tour we even have special editions. Pro v1x with pro v1 specs and Visa versa. Best way is to find Titleist Thursday and get a proper ball fitting.

    Happy swings,

    Bart
  3. Wow I didn't know they mixed specs for probs. Thats a really cool insight thank you.

I made the switch to X atvthe 2017 issue. The slightly firmer feel and different acoustics took a little getting used to, but after a couple of practice sessions soon became used to it.
Performance is key for me and I like the slightly higher spin and ball flight.
  5. I went through a TS wood fitting earlier in the year at Carton House, always been a pro v user, but Mark the fitter advised avx for me due to the lower spin. Haven't played as much as I would like but the golf I have managed the avx is a serious option for me. Feels softer around the greens and maybe sneaks a few extra yards off the tee.

I play the AVX because I’m naturally a high spin player and because I play on links it helps keep it controlled in wind and gives me 5 extra yards on all my clubs. It feels so soft on all shots as well!

    Pro v1 for me.
I love the flight, feel, spin and control from it.
Can’t wait for yellows to play in the winter with ️‍♂️
  8. I play the Pro V1x. I find I can stop it on the green but get extra yards off the tee.

    Mallow,

The 2019 Pro V1X is one to seriously consider when it becomes available. Better flight off the driver and still excellent around the green. Hope this helps.
  10. I use both, stills trying to see which is better, was fitted for the V1 4yrs ago but I do like the V1x at the moment. Flight seems more solid

I play the vX now as got a ball fitting at a Team Titleist event at close house a couple of years ago, it worked better for me than V after they switched the ball characteristics around.

I'm a convert to the AVX for the same reason as Blair, high spin, and I'm really impressed with the distance, feel and durability of them. I still have some 1X's in my bag from the SM7 wedge fitting day which I use when the wind isn't a factor.

Problem with #TitleistThursdays is that ball fitting isn't always possible as the short game area isn't available and you have to use range balls on the longer clubs.

If you can get to a national fitting centre you can definitely get fitted for the right ball, and the use that ball on and club fitting.

Whatever you play just enjoy #1 ball in golf.
