  1. First of all WOW and thanks for the response to my last thread! 'BEST COURSES IN SCOTLAND' Had 46 replies and 96k views!! so a lot of help for everyone in there.. but most of all me!.

Thanks to that I have a trip planned up there playing some on the east and west of scotland to play some of the less known courses that people have suggested!

I was wondering if there are any unique courses in the highlands that people have enjoyed in the past? If so i would be grateful to know!

Little image to enjoy from the open (and yes i love scottish golf)

  2. It’s been a while since I’ve played it, but Boat of Garten is a simply stunning course. It’s another beautiful creation by James Braid. It may not appear on the normal golf tours of Scotland but it should. Just watch out for the steam trains whistle in your backswing.
  3. Bora is a great course, past inverness. Forress golf club on route to Morayshire Moray golf club 2 courses both a challenge Castle Stewart G.C.. Scottish open Was played on this course and plenty of places to stay . carry on into Aberdeen play the Royal Aberdeen G.C. but also many others . or try Golf Breaks .com

My home club, Elgin Golf Club is a cracker. It is not a links course so it often gets missed and there a number of inferior links courses placed ahead of it on ranking lists but it is well worth a visit. Classic, heathland golf situated in the heart of whisky country…perfect for any visitor!
  5. Royal Dornoch and Castle Stuart. Royal Dornoch may be the best course on the planet. Mike Keiser used Royal Dornoch as the model for Bandon Dunes. Dornoch is also home to the famous Golf Course Architect Donal Ross. Its a must play for anyone visiting the area. Castle Stuart is also a fantastic course that I highly recommend. I would love to play both again.

I'm a member of Moray Golf club and is an absolute beauty of a course. Good links with unique features like landing lights for the RAF.

Nearby there is elgin, forres, Castle Stuart, Hopeman, Fortrose, dornoch, brora and Golspie. All of which are great as well
