Anyone ever do 36 holes at Bethpage. Played black last year and considering doing 36 holes in one day between 2 of the other courses. Recommendation on which courses to pair up and how much time you allow between?

That sounds like a great day. I’ve played the Red course and would definitely recommend included in you plan.

Bethpage are my home courses. I play there every weekend. Played the green and yellow last week and both were in good shape for this time of year. Unless you are in crazy good shape, I wouldn’t walk another course on the same day as the black. If you are looking to do 36 on another day, absolutely play the red course in the morning. It’s a long and challenging course and very under rated. Have lunch on the deck overlooking the black course. They have great wings and burgers. I would say an hour and a half in between. Then in the afternoon, I would play the green for fun. It’s shorter and a lot of fun. Lots of birdies to be had. Yellow is an easier option as well. I would stay away from the blue, it’s my least favorite course there.
2 other pieces of advice- you MUST pay at least an hour before for tee time or you will lose your time. Also, on the black, make sure that you are at the starter at least 20-30 min before your time. Second, the driving range is terrible and you cannot hit driver.

The red is opening this weekend and I’m playing it on Saturday and Sunday. Black opens 4/15. Have fun!

Thanks for the tips. I probably wouldn’t play black on a 36 hole day. Leave that to itself again.

My best friend played the Black Course last summer and loved it. We are going to try get there together this June, he wants to play the Black and Red courses, but we are going to try to do them on separate days. He said walking the Black Course was a monster in itself, so 36 may be too much for us.

Do you know the best way to get on black. Ive played it before when you can call up and make a tee time. I tried all last year on their website, but it was impossible. The tee times vanished with in microseconds.

Being on the website right at 7 a week before if you a in state resident, and periodically checking if there are any cancellations.. Otherwise camp out overnight.

Grew up in Westchester, I'd say 36 at the park would be a tough day, be prepared. You don't want to be wore out on the back 9 of the Black, it's hard enough when you're fresh. Pace yourself if you're not use to walking much. You ever want a workout, go walk the two tracks at the Lake Placid Club, it's upstate. That'll make you beg for a cart!
