I have some rewards program items to clear up by the end of the year. So I’m coming to SD as a single to help get through the withdrawal of our local courses closing for the winter. I am content to play as a single but if any locals can add a guest, I’m open to suggestions. I will be there for the 4 days 12/8-12/11. As a single, I will be scheduling courses one day at a time. Any day warmer than the 30’s will be heaven from now to the end of March.

Definitely walk on to Torrey and Coronado, getting there around 6 should (SHOULD) get you out reasonably fast.. High end, go to Aviara and The grand Del Mar!

Good advice. That is exactly what they told me when I was there and I went out with some locals at Torrey and had a wonderful day. San Diego area is a wonderful place to visit as a tourist and as a golfer.

Did the "walk on" at Torrey and it's doable as a single or twosome. I erred on the safe side and parked my rental car in the Torrey lot at midnight and placed my bag near the starter's window. I was the first bag leaning on the balcony overlooking the South course and the Pacific ocean. I went back to my rental car and took a long nap.

I would put Maderas on your agenda but also you need to get to Goat Hill up in oceanside

…Maybe the third time will be a charm. When is the skins game scheduled?

Actually, one of the times I played it, John Ashworth with his hickory woods played through us on the first tee. Maybe his new partner, Bubba, will be with him so I won’t be the only LH there!

Torrey Pines, North or South, is one of my favorite spots. But I’ve played both multiple times. Not sure if they have started the grooming for the Farmers, but by Christmas I forgot to add my machete to hit from the rough. The locals added a local rule for balls lost in the rough, free drop in the fairway.

I think they do the Skins every Friday. Check their website.

Probably should mention I frequently visit SD. This will be my third trip this year. Been to TPI and the local SD TT event. Of the suggestions, Coronado is one I haven’t played. Maderas is the one I haven’t played in the last 2 years.

I chose SD over AZ as I have non-golfing folks I visit. I’m happy to play as a single, but if any of you locals can add one more on 12/10-11 Friday or Saturday (assuming y’all still work Mon-Fri) I’d be honored to join.

Yep Rob, Don played Goat with us the day before our San Diego Golf Day a few year's ago. Like he said, he's played most of our courses but wanted to reach out to any available TT members to play along with. I would but I must do my annual Bandon trip to keep the dust off my rain gear.

Goat is in amazing shape right now for a round, so if you have time Dale go play it

Try the Crossings at Carlsbad. It is a very interesting course. The holes are individual. The scenery cannot be beat.
