Hello everyone! I apologize if this is against the rules or anything, and if it is please remove this...but be gentle haha.

I am brand new to golf and I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Trevor and I'm from the Boise Idaho area. I've been wanting to get into golf for quite a while and just haven't been able to until I was fortunate enough to land a job where pretty much everyone on my team golfs. I've been diving deep into every brand out there because I tend to be pretty brand loyal but Titleist stood out to me because of this community here. Anyways, I hope you all are having a great time out there! Hopefully I'll be able to meet some of you at an event someday! Feel free to reach out to me with any advice for newbies!

Welcome to Team Titleist. If you are a beginner golfer I could only recommend that you see a PGA teacher to make your experience more enjoyable and to play the correct way. Learning from friends can be a disaster as I have learned later in life. Will be 80 next year and still take pointers from my pro every week because of my bipolar game and established bad habits. Also finding a certified fitter to ensure that you have the correct equipment for your game is also important. Fairways and greens is the name of the game. Again, "welcome" and we hope to see you at a TT event over the coming years. =)

Welcome to this Team Titleist community!

I can't second Chuck Z.'s suggestion about starting with a couple of lessons from a qualified instructor (NOT friends who may play good golf!) and also eventually getting properly fit for golf clubs. In the meantime, a set of hand-me-downs will probably suffice until you have a repeating swing and can really benefit from a proper fitting. (There are some body builds that will need unusual specs, but most golfers will be able to start with off the shelf clubs.)

Good luck, and have fun! Rest assured there are more challenging hobbies/games than golf. If you doubt me, try 3-cushion billiards!!!

  5. Welcome to the greatest sport in the world and welcome to TT Trevor! You will find a great community of Titleist loyalists here, great stories both of successes and struggles, tips, travel advice and more.

If I can offer my 2 cents to a newcomer to this game, find a PGA instructor and take some lessons to get a good base in the fundamentals. Stay positive and work on your short game more than anything else. Enjoy the ride, it has been a great 50+ years of playing for me and I think I enjoy it more now than ever.

Welcome to Team Titleist! I’m also new to Titleist, but not to golf. I played cally for 24 years, then to TM P790s for 6 years & P770s in ‘24-‘25 — now on to Titleist T100s. The better I played I changed brands. Last year I played with Titleist a few times and realized the Titleist advantage — so a full change out this year (meaning new Titleist mid-Staff bag, towel, hat, driver, 3W, Vokey SM10 wedges, and a Scotty putter—I’m still thinking about the balls — the TP5s are still my favorite so far) … best of luck …

  9. Welcome friend to the best game you will ever play and the best squad to do it with, going under what some others have said, get a quialfied instructor as soon as possible. It pretty easy, look up in your area the best teacher, anybody who has played D1, Korn ferry, or is at least a 3 or below is worth your time. Find a great putter that works, and don't worry about the swing. You will get better if you work on the fundamentals, keep at it, and enjoy.

Welcome to the community. There's years' worth of information on this forum and if you want to do a deep dive, you'll be here for days. If there's one thing I could suggest it is to use the "Search" function; you'll find that many of your questions have been discussed already, and you just need to do a search
