  1. I'm curious what stretches players find most helpful just prior to playing your round.

I always keep a fitness rubber band in the bag and use it to stretch the back, legs and rotator cuffs. It doesn't weigh much at all and a lot of exercises and stretches can be found on TPI and youtube.

I never stretch or exorcise and find I’m getting a stiff back around the back nine and then I’m all arms and the ball goes nowhere near my target......
This is something I need to work on soon.

I blew the L5-S1 disk in my lower back nine years ago. The stretches and core training taught to me by my chiropractor and physical therapist have kept me playing without surgery. I sit at a desk all day, which is a killer and stretching the hamstrings, hips, core, etc., is a must before playing.
  5. My biggest area of concern is hips. My back and hip flexors get tight, so actually laying on the floor and stretching is a part of every single round.

I've had issues with my lower back tightening and causing extreme pain...last time i went to the chiro (who is also an avid golfer) I asked how to prevent it. He said: increase core strength, flexibility and a nice and easy warm up on the range. That doesn't mean ripping 100% 9 iron, or any other club for that matter.... it meas hitting some half swing shots with different clubs and ball placement and actually letting those muscle warm up.
