There was a split down the middle about yes or no. So now let's hear from the "NO" people about the tour stop in Arizona (WM Phoenix Open) hole #16 where they blast music and party next to the tee box. Looks like fun to me and this event is on my bucket list.

  2. Totally on my bucket list! I love golf and I love to party.

I had a "No" response because I would never wear ear buds to practice or play, but rockin' out on one tee box for that much loot wouldn't bother me at all......rock on!!!

    i'm a no for music.
For this event, Im fine with it. reason being. gets younger gen out to course, gets different viewership on tv watching the crazy atmosphere. hopefully all this adds up to more people going out to try this great game! once they get out to the course, again as I said in your post, if the group wants music thats fine. just keep it low so you don't hear it all over the nearby holes and please turn it down so approaching greens and tees do not hear it. all about respect of others the golf course

I don't think there is much interest in what is happening on the course.
It sure draws folks in and generates the revenue, which is good. But that kind of
partying belongs at a concert not on a golf course.

Put me down for a "no."

It is a different scene than just a round of golf or local tournament where it is done by someone in the group either in a cart or from their stand bag VS. being part of the atmosphere and constant music for ALL to hear that come by that tee box. It gives a different mindset (IMO) if everyone is subject to the same conditions.

I do practice putting & short game with ear buds & mp3 player sometimes. I would never play with them in or play music while on the course.
I love music & still play guitar & sing

  7. I'm at 16 every year, and the noise is at a constant rumble. It's part of the atmosphere for this specific event. For a typical round of golf people shouldn't have to hear the music of your choice will they play. It's rude, no matter how you slice it. Now if you play it low enough others can't hear it, fine. But I've tried that and if other people can't hear it, either can I, so for that reason I pass. (Music is religion to me, I love music and I am a musician myself).
  8. I’ve been to that event 4-5 times but stopped going over a decade ago. It’s a circus. I turn down free tickets every year...

Dan M: Noting to do with the threads subject matter, but I've got a set of those irons in your avatar, 2-PW and still bring them out for a round once a year. They were the first clubs I owned, purchased used in Tallahassee in the mid-80's.
