  1. I have a SS Newport 2 35" and was wanting to cut it to 34" and add some weights as it feels too light. I sometime putt with my 5MB for easier alignment but just doesn't fit my eye. Love my old blade putter. Just wanted some feedback if you guys have done this. It had 10gm weights now and thinking about going to 20gm weights. All your thoughts will be appreciated.

  2. Get the 20 gram weights and try them out. They are easy to switch. As for the having cut down to 34 if it feels good you will putt good. I love my Newport select 2. I have so much more confidence standing over a putt because I love the way the putter feels in my hands.

35" has 10 gram weights, 34" has 15 gram weights, 33" has 20 gram weights as standard

Sounds like an easy fix to a putter that you feel is too light and too long. If it doesn't work out, and can always switch the weights back, and have the inch added back on. You'll probably have to regret it though.

Have you thought of trying 34.5 first?
  6. I have other putters with 34” and that feels pretty good. I always choke down about an inch or so on my 35”. Thinking about getting some heavier weights. Thanks

I have done that many times but you do have to adjust weights
  8. Thinking about buying some 15 or 20gm weights to put them in. Thanks
