My Family and I headed to Pawley's island, SC to watch my young cousin compete in a D2 golf tournament. While down there, I had a chance to golf Caledonia and True Blue.
Caledonia, Hole 9, 110yards with a 54 degree wedge, I got my hole in one! I hit the shot, saw it head right towards the flag. The flag was behind a lip of the front edge bunker so I didn't see the ball the land. I reached down to grab my tee and a heard a loud CLICK. The sound of a ball hitting the flag. My heart went into my chest, and I drove up to the green after my daughter and other cousin took their shots, and didn't see my ball. I walked up and checked the cup and there it was. What a feeling!
The best part about this, was I got to do it in front my 11 year daughter who also golfs. Her run up hug and excitement on the green was everything to me.
Also, I didn't realize the fish chowder station was after the 9th hole, so we had driven up and grabbed a cup of chowder before the shot. Ate some and then took the shot. After the round, the fish chowder guy, and even the waitress at the restaurant were talking about the lucky fish chowder. Incredible experience, and amazing to get an unexpected plaque from them.
