My golf buddies planned a road trip to a course that only a couple of guys had played before. A highly rated course in Kentucky near the Mammoth Cave National Park, Mammoth Park was the location. The hole was a short par 3 with a highly sloped green from right to left. Of course not knowing the course I just hit my regular draw. My Titleist Pro V hit several feet to the right but just kept rolling to the left and dropping into the hole. With a great view of the flagstick we all saw it go it. I yelled “hole in one” so the group behind us, which of course there was some wagering going on, knew that we had a net 0. High fives all around, the best thing wasn’t the actual shot but that some great friends got to join me in my excitement. The 5th HIO in my life, it’s always a unique moment that’s always better to share. Golf is like life, you never know what’s coming!
