  1. I am in my second season with my new T300 Irons and I have dropped my index from 15 to 11.5. On Dec 2, 2021 I was playing in Florissant Mo, at Florissant Golf Club, a course that is 30 miles from my current residence but a course me and my friends grew up playing for 20+ yrs. There was two groups, my foursome and a threesome with my brother Brad, and two friends Ron Chac and Steve Wurth. In my foursome was my son Zachary who was visiting from SF, my brother in law Mike Werdes, and my friend John Lanzone.

We discussed over the past 11 days the need for one my two boys or I to get a hole in one to respond to two recent hole in ones by my oldest brother Bryan on Nov 20, 2021 and my brother-in-law Mike Werdes Nov 24, 2021. I play together every week with my friends and two brothers and bragging rights were on the line.

After a failed attempt to get a hole in one on Nov 26 (although my son Zachary hit one to 18” for his third round of the year!), we ventured back to our old neighborhood to play at Florissant Golf Club (formerly Paddock CC when we were younger).

There was the usual trash talk before the round as Mike Werdes indicated that he didn’t even need to bring his putter because he would just chip it in (which he did for a birdie on the first hole). I responded with a comment that in our group it is all the worse golfers that have a hole in one (even though Mike and a couple of the guys are usually better than me). It was 72 degrees and a beautiful day in St. Louis!

On the 8th hole I was catching up on recording the scores so I was last to hit. The hole sits at the top of a bluff above the green. We were playing the white tees with the card reading 160 but our range finder read 168. Mike was on the green and I decided to hit an 8-Iron. The greens were firm and even with our Titleist Pro V1 balls it was tough to get close to the flag. The flag was back right. I grabbed my T300 8-iron and Pro V1 from my Titleist bag and teed it up. I felt like I chunked it and verbally said “Ahh, I Chunked It!!”. Then I yelled “get on there” because I was hoping at least to win the closet to the pin. The ball landed 3’ on to the green in line with the flag. It gently rolled to the back of the green, bending a little left and into the hole!!

So many things were great for me on this day:

My son being able to be with me Many of my great friends and Brother and Brother-in-law being with me A beautiful 72 degree December day Using my Titleist equipment to do one of the things I love to do with the people I Love.
