  1. Well it’s time. I love my 712 AP2’s but they have seen thier time. Bought them new about 11 years ago. Gonna get fit but anyone have a comp to the performance of the AP2’s?

The AP1 was superseded by the T series 300/350. The AP2 corresponds to the T100, but the T150 and T250 are newer options as players distance irons. Those options didn’t exist in the 714 irons. You do need a top flight fitting to get your best fit.

They will likely fit you into T100 or T150 but be open-minded and willing to try the others if your fitting results point you into another direction. That’s the great part about a formal fitting. It takes out all the guess work and you leave knowing you have your optimal set up.

The technology has really changed in 13 years. A lot of options and a number of players are going with blended sets now. I would go into your fitting with an open mind and ask a lot of questions of your fitter. They are the specialists and know what works best based on trying a number of clubs and shafts. Best advice I can offer. None of use swing the club the same. Hakuna Matata.
  5. I went from the same 712 AP2s to the T100s about 18 months ago. Significant difference in yardage for me, about 10 yds per club. But that’s me, you may be different. During the fitting with the T150 and T100 it came down to spin numbers, I could spin the ball more with the T100s. I went 4-PW, probably should have just gone 5-PW as I hit the hybrid better than the 4i.

I went from 718 AP2’s to a combo of T200 5-7 and 150’s from 8-P. I went with the clubs that gave me the best performance on some less than good swings and just trusted the fitter. The difference in turf interaction, especially on the 150’s, was really noticeable. I love them.
