Last fall I clearly made the mistake of switching from Titleist to another manufacturer for my driver.  I was offered a R11 dot head from a friend and enjoyed it for almost a year.  That was until the face cracked last weekend during normal use.  While I know this happens from time to time with all clubs, that manufacturer has absolutely refused to replace the head in anyway and won't even offer a discount on a currently offered driver, not that I wanted one.  I was just shocked to their stone cold denial of any remedy.

This is exactly why I 100% recent my poor decision to stray from Titleist and absolutely will not let it happen again.  The few times that a shaft or head was damaged through wear, they have ALWAYS been immediate in their response to replace the current club or upgrade to the latest ,model if it was no longer made.  I look forward to my purchase of the new 913 D3 driver when it becomes available.  At least then, in the unlikely event, that something goes array, I will be fully covered.

My deepest apologies for straying, Titleist, and those who are thinking of doing so, I urged you DON'T!!!  It will be something you will regret in the end!!!   Thankfully my AP2's are still holding strong and solid

    Miss you, Titleist customer service!!!!

Well lets think about this. You have a "TOUR ONLY" R11 DOT head I have to say I agree with TM on this. I hate TM and would never play anything they put out. But you have a club that was given to a Pro on tour for free which somehow made it to you. The club has no warrenty and was not meant for resale. I am sure If you had a Tour Issue Titleist Driver that broke they wouldnt replace it either. Unfortunately thats how this works.

I played with Titleist fairway woods from 2007-2011 (975F between 2007-end of 2009 and 980F the last half of 2010).  I'm back to a 910F 19*.  The Titleists may have a few yards less for distance vs the TM but they are on target more often.

    I played with a Vokey 58-12 between 2007-2008.  Tried a different 58 and 64 through 2009.  I've been using Vokeys since beginning of 2010 and currently have SM c-c 50 and 54 and SM4 60-10.

I have AP1 irons 6-PW (play the 8-PW mainly because I have a Louisville persimmon 34H that is an absolute terror on the golf course and I hit it very well).  The only other clubs that hit as well as my AP1s are a set of irons I constructed in 2009 and played for 2.5 years.

Plan is to upgrade my hybrid next year to a 910H 24 and maybe even a 27. I currrently carry a Superfast 2.0 27H but it is also a terror on the course.

Driver - Currently carrying a Burner HT Draw that I paid a whole $69 for at the beginning of 2011.  It actually beat an R11 in a side-by-side.   Possibility of getting a 910H 12* next year is good. I had to do some tricks to the TM to maintain swingweight with a 44.5" shaft.  I personally don't care for the new TM or Cobra drivers.  I don't have the $400 in my budget for a new driver at this point.

So bottom line is that most of my golf bag is Titleist (7/11 clubs).

As far as my bag, 13/14 clubs are Titleist, except the putter, which is a 1982 Ping Anser 2 Be/Cu patent pending model. I cannot say a bad word about Titleist, even if i am not using one of their putters.

I wouldn't play anything else.  I'm also fairly sure Titleist doesn't make Tour Only clubs.  (obviously Scotty does, but I don't think the woods and irons are ever FTUO)

I'm also one of those from the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" school.  Whatever works best is what is in the bag.

I have to agree with him.  if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I have been playing irons from another manufactuer for about 6 years.  I love them and until they just wear out or I cannot hit them anymore, i am staying with them.

Granted, everything else in my bag is Titleist.  When I bought those, I tried the ZB and MB irons and I just did not like them.

I just had my 6 and 7 irons flattened to 63 and 63.5*.   HUGE difference in the way the ball hits.

So now 9/13 clubs are Titleist.

IRT to "if it ain't broke"..... my dad has been using the same Acushnet Bullseye putter since before 1957 and has had the same fairways for 20 years.   I carried a set of X31 forged irons for 27 years.  In 2006 tried some GT3 game improvement irons and could not hit the ball off a tight lie to save my fanny - went back to the X31s.

The persimmon 34H is my equivalent of "Billy Baroo" and sports a Chicago Bears headcover.  Forty THOUSAND dollars! Whoa! Billy Billy!  (we had the equivalent of Judge Smails at St C Country Club in 1972 - an old grouch that had the caddie on every tee box present the bag and he picked the driver out; most golfers let us leave the bag in the middle of the fairway when they got the putter and had us bring the driver along).

Earlier this year, I was perusing the rewards site of the credit card that I use for business expenses.  What I found, which I think was a mistake, since it is not longer available for the same price (points), was an RBZ driver - for the equivalent of about $150.00.  So, I did what any 14 club Titleist loyalist would do, I ordered the RBZ and took it, in the shipping box, to my local golf retailer and traded it in for credit that I later applied to a new set of 712mb's.  I didn't even touch it, much less place it anywhere near my beloved Titleist clubs - I wouldn't want them to get a virus or something.

I am aware that my loyalty for Titleist is borderline certifiable; however, ever since the release of the 975, I have been married to the brand in some form or fashion.  Oh, I may have tinkered with a set of Mizzy blades, or an Insert putter, but I have always had Titleist woods and vokey wedges, and never, ever, would I mix TM among Titleist clubs.  My best friend is testing my resilience as I type, as he has recently mixed TM woods (putter was already present) with the 690 mb's that I graced upon him.  I realize that this is only a phase and he will be back, like what some go through in college, but I am appalled...all the same.  I invite all fellow loyalists to provide the encouragement necessary to bring him back...from the abyss.

There are some things that aren't broke so I'm not going to fix them quite yet.

    I have 10/13 clubs Titleist (910F 19*, 910H 24* and 27*, AP1 7-PW, SM c-c 50-08 and 54-14, SM4 60-10).

Yes I do have a TM driver (2007 Burner HT Draw M flex modified to 44.5" shaft length with Winn Lite Dri Tac oversize grip).  I paid a whole $69 for it almost 2 years ago and I hit it straight down them middle and even have driven 270 yards last year with this so-called "old man" driver.   A 910D2 12* with Bassara A flex is a potential replacement (shortening it to 44.5" and a B3 setting will probably be the best) but I am going to wait for prices to drop next year *(currently the going price on eBay is $280).  Just not quite ready to fork over $400 for a driver new.

I also have a White Hot 7H putter I paid a whole $69 for and spent $20 for a fitting on.  I've saved 2-3 strokes per round on putting.  If I do switch to a Scotty, it'll be a mallet putter but, again, not quite ready to fork over $350 for a putter.

I also have a Louisville persimmon 34* hybrid in my bag (mainly for the "special" shots) that I bought in early 2011 and used primarily because I had a hard time hitting my Eye 2 7 iron (I used the Eye 2s for a year before switching to AP1s and hit the latter much better; there is no contest between the AP1s and the Eye 2s and I am once again enjoying the same level of iron play I had with my do it yourself Snake Eyes Q3I irons).   It is a keeper because I can stop shots on a dime from 130-150 yards and all I have to do is "meet the ball".

In regards to TM, quite honestly, their best models are the 2007 Burner Steel series.  I put my driver next to three 10.5* R11s (with M, R and X flex) and I hit it farther and with a lower trajectory (further justifying the reason not to spend $400 for a new driver).   I also carried a 7 wood of that series for a year and a half and it was the best fairway wood I've owned up until I got the 910F; this particular club could hit only 5 yards less vs my 980F 15* that I had in 2010 (it also blew away a G10 draw 4 wood in a driving range contest).  I briefly tried a Superfast 1.0 5-18 and 4-21 between May of this year and a month ago (they were on clearance; I even parted with the 7W and a couple others to minimize cash outlay); I had to shorten them 1" to hit properly and when I saw the 910F during one of my random trips I gladly traded them and $40 to get it.   I even forked over my SQ2 5/26 for a Superfast 2.0 6-27H (that I ended up paying $40 cash after trade in); I used it for 4 months and hit it well but when I compared it to the 910H 24* that I got last week, there is no contest because the latter is a far superior club (and no sense keeping it because there is only 1.5* loft separation; it is on Craig's List for sale).

I played 975F fairways for a little over 2 years - I reshafted them to DG R300 because the ProForce ATR shafts my dad used would tend to have a high trajectory and I liked a slightly shorter shaft.  I briefly tried BB 2004 Titanium 5 and 9 woods (I could nail the 5 wood but it had a bit of a fade mainly because of the flatter lie angle; the 9 wood hit just about the same distance as a BB Heavenwood 6H I had) and returned them for store credit (that I applied on some Vokey SM2s).  This is probably a reiteration because I played with a 980F 15* for most of the year.   I used a 980F 19* up until the summer (played with Louisville 5/21 and 10/28.5 persimmons the rest of the year and continued on with the 10 wood until March of last year, when I got the SQ 5/26 - much easier to hit).  So here I am using 910 series fairway and hybrids and they are here to stay.
