I found this ball today while playing at a local course and was amazed at its condition. My guess is that this was one of last balata covered balls and that it predates the introduction of the ProV1. Can anyone place when this ball would have been manufactured?

  2. I'm pretty sure this ball had one of the first urethane elastomer covers in the Titleist line up. It definitely wasn't balata. I played both the Professional and the Tour Balata back in my junior golf days and the You were lucky to get three good holes out of a TB. One clean wedge from the fairway and it was over for that sucker. The Professional was a much more durable ball. Tiger used it to win the 97 masters before he left Titleist.

This was a great ball in it's day back in the '90's. This ball replaced the tour balata and preceeded the Pro V1
  5. Got the privilege to play a prototype ball at a golf outing!!
Really liked the way it flew and felt of the face! I would make this my go to ball if I knew what it was Got one bird

I'm not exactly sure when Titleist produced this golf ball, or how many years it was in production. If I had to guess, I'd say early 90's. I believe it's a Titleist professional. There were two variations of this ball; 90 compression which is pictured (90 compression had a red number), and 100 compression which had a black number.

My apologies TT nation. In my prior post, I identified the ball as a Titleist professional.Well of course it's a professional; it's printed on the damn ball.I went right past the first photo, and was looking at the bottom pic when i posted a response.
