When I was a kid working at the local golf course, (1988-1993ish) when boxes of refurbished balls would be delivered, we’d be the first ones in the back room digging through them for the best condition examples of whatever we were currently playing. I kept my supply in my bedroom in an old Footjoy Dryjoys box. It’s still there. While at my mom’s the other night, I found it and it’s full of Titleist DT 90’s and HVC 90’s along with a few Top Flights and Slazengers.

I remember finding those on the course!

I played the DT's back in the 80's. Was pretty much one of the top of the line balls.

I’ve decided to take it a step further. I dusted off my png Eye2’s and TM Burner woods and am going to play my next round using these balls and equipment from the same time period. Wish me luck!!!

How did the round go? The png Eye 2's can still (more than) hold their own against modern irons (as long as you adjust for the weaker lofts). They are the best selling irons of all time for a reason.

It went ok. Hitting the driver was HARD! I topped the first three tee shots and never felt like I hit a solid shot. The Eye2’s were actually great. Mishits still felt centered and the only real issues were that I didn’t go to the range first so I had to figure distances on the course, and that I didn’t have a 6 iron (broken) and no 4 iron, which I have no idea why because I had a 2 iron.
  9. I still have a sleeve of DT 90's (Advil logos) . These came in metallic red cartons, correct? I bought a png TisiTec fairway wood online a couple years ago. The guy included a new sleeve of DT 90's with the club. I may still hit these with wedges sometime.

Played DT-90's from the late 80's until I switched to Titleist Professional 90's. Still have a 6 pack gift box of DT-90's from the 1993 U.S. Open at Baltusrol with U.S. Open/Baltusrol logo.

I still see some of these in our local range buckets! they still go nicely!
  12. In my time golfing I've found both of these
  13. Almost had a hole-in-one with a DT 90 (2" from cup). Still have the ball.

I believe the HVC turned into the HP2 Distance and Tour balls - the distance ball was my favorite ball back in the day.
