I have hit the Fubuki Tour 63 in a different head & liked the feel.  I hear the Alpha is even better but have not been able to find one to try out.  I have the made for Kai'Li in S Flex now.  Can anyone help me compare these 2 Fubuki shafts to each other & to the made for Kai'Li?  I have a smooth swing motion with a speed aroung 100 mph.

    Hi Tom,

As you haven't had a reply from the Titleist guys yet,  i thought i would put in my two cents. Hope you don't mind. I am also looking to try out the Fubuki alpha in the 910 but not having any luck with that, and don't see me having any. So I think if you want the alpha shaft in the 910 it may be a case of just ordering it and hoping for the best on that one. Expensive gamble I know, but I am in the same boat. For what its worth, I understand that the Alpha is a slightly more stable shaft than the Fubuki Tour, slightly firmer tip and butt, but still very smooth and not harsh, apparently the Alpha is very slightly lower launching and a bit less spin than the Tour.

On the Titleist website it states, the Alpha is a higher launching shaft than the Tour, but from what I have gathered this info is defo wrong and must be a print error by Titleist. The Alpha is defo a little lower launching and less spin than the Fubuki Tour. Not massively so, just slightly so as not to affect the smoothness too much. The Alpha has some great reviews, but of course is all relative, so its a pity we are having difficulty trying it out.

Let me know how you get on though?

    Fubuki Tour 63

    S 46.0 64 0.335 4.0 3.7 MID/HIGH
    Fubuki Alpha 60 S 46.0 63 0.335 3.0 3.4 MID

These are the tip parallel length, torque and flex point from MRC's website.  Our R and D department put together the shaft charts strictly by the numbers.  If you look at all the numbers including frequency points (bend profile) across the entire shaft, torque, weight and flex,  it showed that the Alpha (theoretically) would launch slightly higher than the Tour.  That is not to say that everyone will find that to be the case. We have seen the Alpha launch slightly lower with about the same spin with some players.

I ordered the Alpha 60.  I will let you know what I think about it when I try it out.

I have hit the Fubuki Alpha 60 S three times now.  I am in Ohio, so all 3 times have been on an indoor simulator.  I know the indoor simulators are not always the most accurate devices when it comes to measuring performance, but you can compare 2 different shafts side by side and see how they compare to each other.  I compared the made for Titleist Diamana Kai'Li S flex shaft to the Fubuki Alpha 60 S flex.  Side by side, the Alpha 60 consistently was 600 to 800 RPMs lower than the Kai'Li.  The Alpha 60 also seemed to launch about 1 degree lower than the Kai'Li.  The Alpha 60 is definitely a much firmer shaft, with less whip and more control.  Overall, I am very pleased with the shaft, even at the high up charge.

I also have been looking at moving to the Fubuki Tour 63, do you have the 910F Fairwoods and Resuce Club and what shafts do you have in them.

Right now I have the 909 hybrids.  I play a 17 & 21 degree loft.  I do not play a fairway wood.  I have the made for Titleist Vodoo shaft in my hybrids.  I would not mind trying the Fubuki shaft in my hybrids, but I hit them well with the made for Titleist Vodoo shaft & cannot justify the up charge.

I have tried side by side by side the Fubuki Tour 63, 73 and the Alpha 60 all in stiff in a Titleist 910D3 8.5. Swing speed 108. The Alpha 60 was higher launching and looked to be higher spinning than either Fubuki Tour. The Tour 63 was higher launch than the 73, all were very smooth. My results look very similar to the Titleist site on shaft comparisons.

Hi Probably best to get the comparitive numbers for the Fubuki tour and Fubuki alpha on a trackman before making assumptions about spin rates etc though.

I have the Fubuki Tour 73 in my 910D2 and I have put the Motore F3 in the 910Fd and 910H.  I love the consistency and length that I am getting from all of these shafts.  Well worth every penny that I have invested.   I am blowing the ball by my old driver by 15 - 20 yards with much more consistency.

    Hi Tom,

I took the time and trouble to message MRC for you, it wasnt any hassle, and as you can see from their reply below, this is message I received. My original reply to you was indeed correct and they have confirmed that I was correct as you can see. I wouldnt take too much notice of numbers, it is more likely to be accurate by contacting the companies and asking direct, in the absence of being able to try out the shaft.

    HI

Can you tell me please, what the difference is as far as playing characteristics and comparative launch angles, spin and feel are in comparison between the Fubuki Tour and Fubuki Alpha shafts are please? I am interested to know what the difference is between the two?

    Thank you.

    Jason,

Thank you for writing in. Fubuki Alpha will lauch slightly lower, with lower spin when comared to Fubuki Tour. Fubuki Alpha would fit the strong player better than Tour due to its stiffer tip section. Take care

The Titleist Regional Fitting Centers have both the Tour and the Alpha in their fitting matrix.

I have the Fubuki Alpha 60 in my 910 D3. R flex, cut to 44.5". 92 MPH driver speed. It's the best driver/shaft I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of them! I have the Kai'Li shafts in the 910 FD 13.5 and the F 15.0, and I'm not so impressed, although I just switched from the 75 to the 65 gram versions and haven't played them yet. When I ordered the fairway metals, for some reason, the Fubuki's were not available for fairway clubs, but I see on their website they have several.

The Fubuki is responsive and has a bend profile that seems to suit my swing perfectly. It's about 5 yards carry, and 15 yards roll longer than my 909 D2 with a Matrix Ozik R shaft. Less spin. You can't go wrong with the Fubuki.

  14. Just another data point. I have a 2010 909 D2 stiff with the fubuki alpha 60 in it. Swing speed is about 104mph. I tipped it 3/4 inch after some experimenting with it without tipping it at all, then 3/8 inch, and finally 3/4 inch. Ultra reliable ball flight, great launch angle, and spin is at 2100-2300. I dont care what comes out "new" this year, I'm not touching this club! Easily workable both left and right as well. Now if I could only putt with it.

Anyone have comparisons between Aldila RIP 60 Reg vs Fubuki Alpha 60 Reg? Looking to place one or other in 910 D2.
