I was curious if anyone had any insight on the best place to get a Scotty Cameron fitting in the Fort Bragg area. I have never been fit for a putter and currently use the Del Mar but and really wanting to get fit this year for the right putter for my game. Thank you in advance.

  2. David Orr is a well known putting coach that runs Flatstick Academy at Mid Pines in Southern Pines, and Pine Needles has a Tour Spec fitting operation. That’s a bit of a drive, but not too far from Bragg.

I can't advise on a location in your vicinity but can say a good Scotty Cameron fitting is well worth it. I had a Scotty fitting 18 months ago and its made a massive difference to me confidence and scoring wise on the greens. Knowing I had the right putter for my stroke and that it was fitted to me loft, lie and length wise, never putted better.

If you like your current putter, a few adjustments in your lie, loft and length by a fitter might make a difference. My fitter changed the lie to 1* flat and it helped me from toeing my putts.

I took a chance at a local Golf Galaxy in the Charlotte area and was really impressed with the fitting. A lot of great information and it was only $40!

Hey Patrick, I would recommend finding a fitter that has the technology to measure your ball spin, club head path and roll data. I know foresight quad 4 with the putting add on can measure all those. Probably some other tech can as well. I think it really helps to get the specs right so you can achieve forward spin consistently. Good luck!

Curious-where in Charleston can this type of fitting be done? I'm willing to drive down from Asheville for a proper fitting. Thanks.

I would use the Titleist golf shop locater, which I’ve found incredibly useful.

Also, I believe a lot of Golf Galaxy locations have the Quad 4 system available for putter fittings.
