    Hi,

I bought a 909D3 10.5 voodoo S and used for around 3 months. Kept losing it to right, and too high, floating shot that "dropped" out of sky. Felt like the head wouldn't stay with me and hence hit the ball with open face. my swing speed around 100-105 mph.

I get a FT tour with Voodoo svs6 shaft which was better but still not good enough. Now starting to think it's all about the tip ?

Went back to my old driver, Wilson pd5, 8.5 with stock grafalloy S shaft (70g, 3.8 torque, mid-high launch). It goes flatter and hard. It's clearly a consistently straighter and longer unit for me. (can't believe i persevered with the D3 setup for so long).

But i want a titleist driver.......

    So I'm thinking 909D3 8.5 but the shaft is a big deal. I'm thinking a RIP70 S ?

Is there anyone that can translate my Pd5 setup into a 909D3 ?

    Seriously in a technology quandry.

  2. Hi Rohan -

We would recommend that you try and visit a Titleist Fitting Partner to determine what shaft is best suited for your swing type, ball speed, launch angle and spin rate.

Based on the information that you have provided here it sounds like the shaft that performs well for you is a slightly softer shaft with a lower kick point than the VooDoo.  Based on the specifications from the VooDoo compared to the Grafalloy you prefer, I am not sure that the RIP is the right shaft either. Also, Titleist does not currently offer the RIP for the 909 heads and you would be unable to order this set-up from Titleist.

If you will provide us with your zip code, we will be more than happy to see which of our fitting partners nearest you is best suited to guide you in selecting the proper shaft.

You may also use our FittingWorks website to research shafts and find one that is similar spec to your Grafalloy.  You may also call us to speak to a Team Titleist member directly.
