I plan to buy combo set 712 series 5-7 cb, 8-9 mb with kbs c-taper S and i also plan to use 4 vokey wedge 46,52,56,60. Right now i'm using titleist 755 with dgs200 and vokey 52,56,60 with dgs200 wedge flex. My question is can i use the same kbs c-taper S for my wedges? Or should i use kbs hi rev for wedge? Which one better? What is the mean of wedge flex at the vokey stock shaft? For my height 5'8" what is the proper iron shaft lenght for me? Thanks victor

Generally our players prefer a softer shaft in their wedges and the Hi Rev has proven popular. We Generally keep players in the same brand, just a softer flex or wedge shaft. The "wedge" flex is code for S200 in the dynamic gold line. Again, it plays softer than the popular S300. In general your standing height has nothing to do with your dynamic athletic ability in the golf swing. That's where our network of Titleist certified fitters will change your game.

Ryan, what woudl you recommend to try based on the following shaft set-up. I play KBS Tour 90 (R) in my iron shafts with another iron company. I am switchin to the AP1 712 (have hit it, but now waiting on some shaft options) and believe the Nippon NS Pro 950 is a good and comparable option. I play KBS Tour (R) in my Vokey wedges now and am switching to the SM4. My teacher (Titleist professional) recommended the heavier shaft for my wedges. If I go with Nippon NS Pro 950 in irons, what do you recommend for wedges - same Nippon or 105T - I like a lighter weight steel shaft in my irons. Looking for suggestions and thoughts on heavier vs. same weight for wedges vs. irons, as well as recommendations on shafts to try.

I think the Nippons are a favorite shaft of Titleist fitters and the 970 (not the 950) sounds like it would compare on paper to the KBS Tour 90.  I prefer the feel of heavier wedges and the 105T sounds like a good bet.  Your pro may not have the wedge option to test with but once you settle on the 712 option, maybe you guys can order a test Nippon shafted wedge and go from there.

Thanks for the information and input. Why the 970 as opposed to the 950? The 950 is a few grams lighter (not material) adn should launch a little higher. Looking for your logic. Thanks.

I'm thinking the new AP1 already is a high launching iron.  Perhaps the 950 will launch too high.  I haven't seen the independent testing numbers that Titleist uses to identify how shafts compare to the KBS 90.  But, I think the bottom line is we just need to get you to a fitting and see what the numbers say!  The Nippons will be a good place to start.

Ryan, if i go with kbs hi rev for the wedges that shaft 125 gr, torque 2, freq 6.1 which is means softer than kbs c taper (torque 1.9, freq 6.3) but weight only 120 gr, what do you think? If i go with c taper for all the wedges what will happen compare to hi rev, thanks

I believe that in general, the C-taper will decrease spin and not many players need less spin around the greens.  So whether it's 25-500rpms, that little difference can mean something when using the most lofted wedge.

I play the 710 ap2 with kbs tour regular flex.

I have vokey wedges 58, 56,52 and want to reshaft with some kbs shafts.

What would be the best fit with the best feel and distance.
