PGA TOUR | RBC Canadian Open
Titleist Brand Ambassador Bud Cauley, gaming a Pro V1x golf ball and all-Titleist setup that included his NEW GTS driver and fairway, closed in 5-under 65 on Sunday to claim his first career PGA TOUR title by two shots.
- Cauley gained strokes on the field in every major category (+2.525 OTT; +1.822 APP; +2.959 ARG; +6.681 Putting) on his way to four sub-70 rounds at TPC Toronto (69-63-66-65).
- His Sunday was highlighted by a stretch of five birdies over eight holes (Nos. 8–15), which saw him lift and separate from the crowd of contenders.
- Cauley (Pro V1x) led a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 finish for Titleist golf ball players this week in Canada, as nine of the top 10 finishers trusted a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball.
- Six of the top 10 also played a Titleist driver, as Cauley (NEW GTS2 8.0°) made it back-to-back wins for GTS driver players on the PGA TOUR following J.T. Poston’s victory at the Memorial.
- Seven of the top 10 had Vokey Design lob wedges in the bag.

BUD CAULEY WINS WITH PRO V1x; 9 PGA TOUR WINS IN 9 WEEKS FOR TITLEIST GOLF BALL PLAYERS

- Bud Cauley was in full control of his Pro V1x golf ball this week in Canada, gaining over seven shots on the field with his tee shots (+2.525), approach play (+1.822) and short game (+2.959).
- His ball-striking helped set him up for an eagle and 22 birdies (T3) over 72 holes — including four birdies on the back nine Sunday.
- “I think the ball is the most important piece of the equipment,” Cauley said. “It's the only thing you're using on every shot during the round. And I think finding the right ball for you and also sticking with it allows you to have that familiarity with it and that consistency with your game so you know what you're going to get.
- “You can really start to improve more when you have that consistency and you start eliminating different variables, whether it be different balls or a ball that’s not fit for you.”
- Cauley’s victory makes it nine wins in the last nine weeks on the PGA TOUR for Titleist golf ball players, following victories by Matt Fitzpatrick (Pro V1x), Alex Fitzpatrick (Pro V1x), Cameron Young (Pro V1x Double Dot), Kristoffer Reitan (Pro V1), Aaron Rai (Pro V1), Wyndham Clark (Pro V1x) and Russell Henley (Pro V1x) and J.T. Poston (NEW Pro V1x Left Dash).
HOW CAULEY MARKS HIS PRO V1x
- “For me, I've marked it the same way really ever since I can remember. I like to put a top line right over the marking here where it says [Pro V1x]. So I do just a straight line. Some guys do shorter or longer. I kind of like to have a more medium line, something kind of right in there. I use it for putting. That's the only thing it's there for. I use it on all my putts just as a start line. I think it helps me too a little bit with aim, making sure I'm aiming the correct spot."
- Cauley had his Pro V1x rolling end-over-end and hitting his start lines with ease this week, as he gained +6.681 strokes on the greens (5th) with his Scotty Cameron GoLo putter.
BACK-TO-BACK WINS FOR NEW GTS DRIVERS ON THE PGA TOUR

- One of the over 65 PGA TOUR players who have already made the switch to new GTS drivers, Cauley was locked in off the tee this week, gaining over two-and-a-half shots on the field (+2.525, 17th).
- Cauley put his new GTS2 8.0° gamer in the bag in his first opportunity at the Valero Texas Open.
- He instantly was drawn to the stability GTS2 offered, and he saw slightly higher launch with greater spin stability in testing compared to his previous gamer.
- Cauley specifically noticed his left misses were holding their line better, and he loved the sound and feel of GTS.
- That same week, Cauley also added a NEW GTS3 15.0° fairway to the top end of his setup.
- NEW GTS2 8.0° driver | A•1 SureFit hosel | Fujikura Ventus Black Velocore+ 6 X
- NEW GTS3 15.0° fairway | B•1 SureFit hosel | Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Pro Red 70 TX
- Since the move to his GTS driver, Cauley has jumped over 40 spots in the PGA TOUR’s SG: Off the Tee statistic, going from negative strokes gained (–0.138, 108th) to positive (+0.09, 65th).
- Cauley’s victory makes it back-to-back wins on the PGA TOUR for GTS driver players, following J.T. Poston’s win with his GTS3 at the Memorial.
- GTS also found the winner’s circle on the LPGA this week, with the 2022 U.S. Girls Junior Amateur champion earning her first LPGA title at the Dow Championship (team event) while gaming her GTS2 driver.
CAULEY WINS WITH BLENDED SET OF TITLEIST IRONS

- Cauley's first PGA TOUR came gaming a blended set of irons, gaming a U•505 utility and T250 4-iron before moving into 620 MB blades:
- U•505 3-iron | Fujikura Ventus Velocore+ Black HB 8 X
- T250 4-iron | Dynamic Gold S300
- 620 MB 5–9 irons | Dynamic Gold S300
- “I've used blades ever since I was a little kid,” Cauley said. “I just think they feel the best. Obviously, it's a little less forgiving than other clubs. To me, I think they’re the most consistent, the most solid feeling when you hit them solid. And even the look to me also, again, it's kind of simple. It doesn't have a lot going on when you look down on it. It has that skinny top line. And to me, when I've looked at other clubs that are maybe cavity backs, it just looks a little bit thicker and a little more kind of more going on. So I love just the simple kind of classic look of a blade.”

INSIDE CAULEY’S VOKEY SM11 WEDGE SETUP
- Bud Cauley's short game shined on Sunday, as he gained nearly two shots around the green on the field in the final round alone (+1.958, 3rd).
- Perhaps his shot of the day came on the par-4 12th, where he found himself short of the green in two and in danger of dropping a shot.
- Cauley pulled his 60-degree K* Grind lob wedge and holed the 31-yard pitch for what turned out to be the tournament-winning birdie.
- Overall, Cauley’s short game gained +2.959 shots on the field (4th), and he scrambled at a 70% clip (14th).
- His setup consists of four Vokey SM11 wedges:
- NEW Vokey Design SM11 48.10F, 52.12F, 56.14F, WedgeWorks 60K* wedges | Dynamic Gold S300
- “The 48 and 52 are mostly, they're kind of just iron shots. I don't really chip or do too much with these,” Cauley said. “Maybe a long bump-and-run occasionally, but mostly I chose these grinds because they felt the best going through the turf. My 56, I chip with a decent amount. I've used this 14F forever. I think it's great out of bunkers when you get a touch more sand where maybe sometimes the 60 will dig a little bit. So I've used this forever. It's a great club.”
- With his lob wedge, Cauley had previously been a 60.06K loyalist, loving the performance of the lower-bounce K Grind out of the bunker.
- He moved into the L Grind for a brief stretch to unlock more greenside versatility before Vokey Tour Rep Aaron Dill introduced him to the K* Grind.
- Cauley immediately found that the K* delivered the forgiveness out of the bunker that he loved along with the shot-making ability that was seeking around the green.
CAULEY’S MOVE TO SCOTTY CAMERON GOLO PUTTER HELPS SEAL VICTORY
- Bud Cauley was locked in on the greens at TPC Toronto with his center-shafted Scotty Cameron GoLo 7 S1 tour prototype putter, averaging a field-best 1.58 putts per GIR while gaining +6.709 strokes (5th) on the field.
- This week was just his 4th start with his new gamer, which he added to the bag at the Truist Championship after early-week testing with Scotty Cameron tour reps at Quail Hollow.
- He was previously in a Newport-style model.
- According to Scotty Cameron tour rep Brad Cloke, Cauley found the center shaft setup very easy to line up, and he liked the stability that came with his gamer's slightly heavier head weight.
- The result was a total of 317 feet of putts made this week in Canada, including over 198 feet on the weekend.
- “It's helped a lot,” Cauley said following the win Sunday. “I've always putted with a Newport 2-style putter, and I started messing around a little bit with some center-shafted putters. I'm left eye dominant and I was told that sometimes a center shaft or less offset can look a little better to someone who is left eye dominant but plays the game right-handed. It's helped me a lot. It looks a lot more square to me, it's a little easier to aim, and I’ve really putted pretty well since I put it in.”
LPGA | Dow Championship
Yana Wilson (Pro V1) was clutch when her team needed it most, making three back-nine birdies on Sunday en route to a closing best-ball 62 and her first career LPGA title.

KORN FERRY TOUR | OccuNet Classic
Zack Fischer (Pro V1) was steady down the stretch in Amarillo, closing in 1-under 69 to capture his first career KFT victory.

- Fischer’s week was highlighted by an 8-under 62 Saturday that featured five birdies and two eagles.

- In total, 57 players (73%) teed up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x at the Principal Charity Classic, more than five times the nearest competitor (10).
