Tenth Hole in One

On July 1, 2011, at Oak Tree National in Edmond, OK, at 72 years of age (and feeling it!), I finally achieved my 10th Hole in One - a mere 47 years after my first one in 1964 in Alameda, CA. Having had a dry spell of "none" for a number of years, I was afraid I might never reach this personal milestone!

Hole #4 at Oak Tree, nicknamed "Waterloo," is one of the most-photographed holes in golf, playing over water to a green bulkheaded with several dozen native red rocks. It was there in 1988 that Paul Azinger knocked a 6-iron into the hole to take a four-stroke lead in the third round of the PGA - so I'm in VERY good company!!!!

Having previously aced this same hole in 1995, it was almost deja vu, except this time, using an 8 Iron and a Titleist ProV1 ball, I didn't even get to see it land in the hole 123 yards away - I had to be told it took one bounce into the hole.

The photo attached is my "collection" of Hole in One trophies, all but three of which we accomplished using a Titleist ball.
