My Titlest Moment
By Michael M On 12 April 2012
I scored my hole-in-one on Thursday, April 12, 2012 while playing my 1st round this season at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, MA.
I was playing with Jaime O'Neil, a member at Indian Pond.
I scored my ace on the 7th Hole, a Par 3 that measures 143 yards at the Blue Members' Tee Markers. Using GPS we measured the exact distance tee-to-pin at 148 yards.
Just prior to hitting my tee shot I was telling Jaime how I had just recently celebrated my 60th birthday and at our age we needed to be sure not to delay doing the things we've wanted to do any longer. Carding a hole-in-one was among those goals. Having made that comment made, I then stepped into the tee box and struck the shot that made my dream come true.
My dad, who celebrated his 90th birthday two days earlier and who introduced me to the game, carded his hole-in-one many years ago at North Andover Country Club in North Andover, MA where he worked in the pro shop as an assistant to the club pro. Matching my dad's achievement was a long-held objective, now realized at last. I wish he could have been there to see it. I hope he's there next time.
