You never think it will happen to you - then when you least expect it - you get a hole-in-one! This was a typical Thursday league night. I doubled hole #1 then tripled hole #2. I told my buddy Pete - I need to find my swing - this is not going to be a good night. Then I teed-up on three and as usual hit my 6 iron on this 150 yard par 3. I knew it was a good shot and it was going right at the pin - I have hit that same shot (so I thought) on many other league nights. The ball hit the front of the green but instead of bouncing left or right, stayed on track and disappeared. I thought it went behind the pin until Pete said - "Lou, its in the hole!!" The cart-girl also saw it and said she never saw a hole-in-one before. She and Pete signed my card. Although I only called one person, the starter Charlie caught up with me on hole #7, congratulated me then told me the good news. The league had hole-in-one insurance and everyone was waiting for me in the club house so they could get a free drink. I will never forget this experience!
