I scored my first hole in one on August 29, 2012 at Liberty Hills Golf Club in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

I hit a nine iron from 121 yards. The ball hit four feet short of the hole, took one bounce and disappeared!

I was still in a dream state on the next tee and proceeded to duck hook my drive out of bounds! Thank goodness I had put the "hole in one" ball (a Titleist NXT) in a pocket in my golf bag. I wouldn't have wanted to lose that ball!

I've golfed for almost fourty years and have come close to an "ace" twice before. I really never expected to make one this late in the game.
