The third hole of Boone Golf Club, and a sunny afternoon for our four ball. All my playing companions selected woods for the shot, 183+ yards, with the pin at the back. I took a 3 iron and we all watched the ball fly straight as an arrow directly towards the pin, but none of us could see it finish as we were playing into the setting sun. We joked that it must have gone either into the back bunker, or into the hole as we could not see it on the green. I looked in the bunker but my friends found it in the cup. What a surprise! I have been playing golf for over 50 years and this was my first hole in one, and my handicap is the highest it has ever been too.
