My first ace and I got it playing with my dad
By Karakis On 13 December 2011
I live in Wisconsin so it was my first round since the previous October. I was playing with my dad and two of his buddies. The wind was blowing in and from the right to a front pin, so I took an extra club (5-iron) and aimed for the right fringe, figuring the wind would knock the ball down a bit and pull the ball left toward the flag. The plan actually worked; I saw the ball land, take a short bounce, and disappear.
I said "I think that went it!" but by dad and his buddies are all in their late 60s so I was the only one with eyes good enough to see it go in. Two of them still had to hit, and I couldn't sit still waiting for them to hit so we could all go up to the green. We got up there and sure enough, the pitch mark was a few feet short of the hole and the ball was in the bottom.
I play Titleist 990 irons, Vokey wedges, and the ProV1. I'm getting a 910D3 for Xmas/birthday as well. I was a lifelong Titleist guy to begin with, but this ace cements it!
