Making but not seeing the ACE

It was one of those days where you spend most of the round trying to figure out what you're doing wrong...and all of a sudden you hit "that" shot that makes the world a happy place! As I prepared to hit the tee ball on the 151 yd 17th hole I remember thinking just put a solid swing on this...one because I needed it for my golf sanity and two, there was a double greenie up for grabs! The wind was blowing a bit from left to right so I thought I would just aim a little left and let mother nature handle the rest. Well, needless to say I was surprised to see the ball heading out right and coming back with a baby draw. The greens front was gaurded by a large bunker but as the ball sailed over it and headed dead at the stick I figured I was gonna be close. Now since the bunker fronted the green we didn't have a view of the lower part of the flag or the hole from the tee...so when we arrived up at the green and saw no ball we just assumed it was long. As I was removing my 2 wedges and putter from my bag one of my playing partners called out "your ball mark is 5ft behind the stick but I don't see anything over" so I prepared to have a look on my hands. As I approached the side of the green my buddy Ed casually said, "you got a hole in one". I said "get the @*$# outta here" and continued around to the back of the green. Ed then said, "I'm not kidding...your ball is in the hole! As he was saying this my other bud Rich walked over to the hole to have a look see and said, "he's NOT kidding...it's in the hole! I can't even explain the feeling I had as I walked cautiously to the hole to have a look for myself. After almost 30 years of playing golf, I realized the dream of EVERY golfer...I had just made an ace!!!
