On October 18, 2012, I got the second ace in my golfing career of 50+ years. I was using my AP2 6 iron and a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball on the par 3 2nd hole at the Lafayette Elks County Club in West Lafayette, IN. The hole lists at 155 yards, but it's slightly uphill and was in to a strong wind that night. When the ball took off it never left the flag. It hit about 8 feet in front of the pin, bounced once and then went directly into the hole. I looked in amazement at my playing partner who was just as excited about the shot as I was.
My first ace came 36 years ago one week to the day after my wedding to my wonderful wife. Of course, she took some indirect credit for the ace claiming that if we'd not gotten married, I would have never gotten the ace. My 2nd ace came one day after her birthday, so I'm reasonable confident that she once again take some indirect credit for this ace, as well.
