I was playing in the annual Palmira Cup at my club, a three-day team event. On the first day of competition, I nearly aced the first hole played, a 180 yard par-3. My Velocity ball rolled over the edge of the cup and came to rest two feet behind the cup - I made the birdie.

Six holes later, I hit my tee shot to a front left pin on the 5th hole of our Egret course. The shot hit the front of green right of the hole, caught the slope and rolled down and into the cup!

It took me 50 years of golf to get my first ace. I hope the second comes sooner!
