Got Lucky After 42 Years Playing the Game

I am a typical high handicap hacker who happens to love the game. I'm semi-retired and try to play in three leagues at our community's club course, The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club (Chapel Hill, NC), when I can.

Today, I was hitting the ball particularly well (for me) and playing with three low handicappers in a league match. The guy who teed off just before me, hit his ball right to left and landed on the green, about 10 feet from the pin. I teed off next and tried to duplicate his right to left swing and hit the perfect shot. It was on our third hole, a tricky par 3 over water with a green that runs sharply right to left.

The shot was made with a Titleist ProV1, using a Nike 5 wood. The pin was up and left of center, so the tee to green distance was only about 110 yards. The shot was made on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 around 8:30 a.m.
