Golf Trip Hole Out

I have been playing golf competitively and recreationally since I was 12. I worked in the golf industry for 8 years full time and am still employed part time at the golf course, so I have played more golf than the average person. You think this would increase the odds of a hole in one, but it took me this long to hole one out. I have had 3 double eagles and just missed the hole out numerous times.

I was on an annual golf trip to western Nebraska where we play golf from sun up to sun down with a bunch of great guys. We were playing our first round at Bayside Golf Club in Brule, NE. I was playing well and was one under par going into 17, a short 125 yard par 3 with a very odd green (There is a Bunker in the center of the green). I had my Vokey SM4 56 degree wedge and I fired the ball right over the pin knowing it would spin back a bit. When it hit the green I knew it would be close to the pin and I would have an easy birdie putt, but it spun a little more than I thought it would. Then CLANK! Hit the pin and dropped into the cup. I walked up to the green, pulled the Pro V1 out of the cup and celebrated.

I had a bit of extra adrenaline on the 18th box, but I hit a good drive and got on the green in regulation, drained a birdie putt and ended the round at 4 under. That was a great way to start the annual golf trip and I couldn’t have done it without the Titleist connection
