Ace on Number 7 at Georgetown Country Club

On March 29,2012, I was playing with my usual group of players. We play on every Tuesday and Thursday Morning. Reaching the uphill #7 hole, over the river,I hit first from the tee. The ball landed just over the edge of the green and appeared to run toward the flag. When we arrived at the green, we could see where that the hole was located approximately in the center of the up-sloping green. Ihe ball was not on the green. Charlie Mitchell, one of my players, said that the ball must have run over the green. So I took my putter and wedge with me from the cart. Still not finding the ball, I thought it must have gone through the fence, beyond which is high grass and OB. Finally, Charlie said "it's in the hole, dummy!" This is my second Ace. The first was during a tournament, August 1st 1996, on what was then #5 on the same course. This was also with a 7 iron but the yardage was 152 yds. I was 56 then compared to 71 now. I feel in a few more years I might have the chance of shooting my age, especially with the new NXT Tour ball. In the test with the new balls(sent to me a couple of weeks ago by Titleist), I am hitting the ball at least 15 yards longer and straighter!
