A Day to Remember

I was in a scramble tournament with some co workers for the company we work for. It was one of their biggest event that happens twice a year. there was only 3 of us so from the beginning we were at a disadvantage. I've been only playing for a couple of years and the other two were weekend warriors. We were -1 going to hole 10. it was a Par 3, 174 yards with the wind behind us. the First guy on our group tops his ball and falls in the bushes. the second guy slices his ball in the water. So I was on the spot. I pulled out my 7 iron hoping to just land on the green or somewhere playable. I just focused and hit. As I look up, it seems like the ball is being carried by the breeze and suspended in midair. All I was thinking was, let it land on the green so we have a chance for par. It bounced close to the pin and disappeared! I wasnt even thinking that this hole was one of the Closest to the pin hole. We paused for a minute and looked at each other. My friend said "I think its in the hole". I was in doubt and replied, "no way, I think its short or in a false green since there was no flat area in that golf course". I didnt want to be disappointed and find it in the bunker or 20 feet around the green. we raced up there and saw a divot next to the hole and one of my friends said, "I dont want to look, you look, its your shot". So I did, and there it was, inside the cup. We were so happy, my friends thanked me because as long as they have been playing, they never seen an ACE in their lives. It was a day that they will never forget. I was just glad that I had a chance to show them one. The greatest game ever. I won the closest to the pin. No cars, no cash prize, no free trips, just a shirt and a dozen golf balls (not even prov1's). It also cost me $85 for the plaque that I had to buy at the pro shop which my friends talked me into because they said that this day is a day to remember not only for me but for my friends. Thanks PROV1X.
