Looking for the Titleist historians here. Why is Ball Plant III, where only the premium #1 balls are made named III and not 1? My thought is where are Ball Plant I & II, or, is Plant III in the same area but has replaced I & II over time?

Literally the 3rd ball plant in history. Ball plant 2 does all balls that don’t start with Pro-V. I have seen the exterior of Ball Plant 1 in Acushnet, but by now it may have undergone remodeling. Titleist hasn’t used it for a number of years. Ball plant 4, fully owned and operated by Titleist is in Thailand.

Ball plant ! is where everything was back in the day. Manufacturing in the rear with offices up front along Slocum St in Acushnet. That site was sold long ago. The area where the offices were is parking. The rest of the building is multi business. The area where the employees parked is now a storage facility. As Acushnet Co evolved they needed buildings that were modern and could better fit the needs, Ball Plant 2 and Ball plant 3 in New Bedford industrial park. Acushnet Co HQ in Fairhaven along with the warehouse, Customs in New Bedford along Belleville Rd. Back in the day Acushnet Co had its own rubber division which was in New Bedford. The only thing still in Acushnet is Manchester Lane testing facility.
