  1. Excellent iron fitting this evening with Lewis at Eaton G C. Sorted out a set of AP2s and learned a bit about my swing in the process. Thanks Lewis: a very enjoyable session. Maurice

    Hi Maurice,

What did you like best about the fitting process or more specifically, how did you go about learning about your swing?

I have been fitted for nearly ever club in my bag ...except for my putter.  I have been fit for my Driver, Irons and Wedges at our Regional Titleist Fitting Centre.  My other clubs were from a golf retailer that has fitting pros on staff).

I found that I got a lot more feedback from my session at the Titleist Fitting Centre than I did at the golf retailer.  My fitter was more involved in the process where I had her undivided attention for the 90 minutes of the fitting whereas the pro at the golf retailer fitter was "bobbing" around the store, etc.

Both used launch monitors, but only the Titleist Centre used the Trackman.  I got feedback on my launch angles, angle of attack, smash factor and dispersion "rates".  Plus, I was able to take my clubs out on the turf whereas the golf retailer was inside in a controlled environment and we were also able to consider divot patterns, etc.

    D.
