  1. I just bought the ap2 712 with the true temper dynamic gold s300 shaft. I went for my fitting and the guy told me that it would be better to have the xp 95 shaft for my swing speed (70-75mph). He then told me that I can't get them in the ap2 712 but the 714. Any recommendations on what I should do?? Can I get the 712 with the x95 shafts

    Hi Hugo,

I Just went for my fitting out here at the REGIONAL TITLEIST FITTING CENTRE at the Northview Golf Academy in Surrey, B.C.

Like you, I too was being fit for the 714 AP2 Irons (4-PW).  Also, like you, my swing speed, etc. do not favour the True Temper Dynamic Gold shaft.  Instead, the recommended shaft for me is the KBS Tour shaft.  So, I simply ordered it through my Titleist Fitter out here.

It is an upcharge over the standard shafts of DYnamic Gold or Kuro Kage (graphite), etc.  The same goes for the grips...I decided to order mine with the Golf Pride grips rather than the standard Titleist Tour Velvet grips.

Perhaps try reaching out to the Titleist Fitting Centre nearest you and discuss these options or ask the fitter that you worked with to reach out to their Titleist rep to discuss the ordering options.

Good luck and I would love to compare notes with you when you get yours and I get mine.

    Hi Hugo,

My apologies...I just realized that you were specifically referring to the 712 AP2's and not the 714 version.

Though, I would still suggest contacting your Titleist rep through the fitting shop, etc. rather than having to take the clubs to a club maker - repair shop for reshafting.

  4. Hi Douglas,

i went and did my fitting and they recommended that I should stay in the s300. My launcangle is high as it is with the s300 and I'm still getting. The same distance with the xp95. I think I'm going to stick with the stock shafts. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with my new clubs, I can't wait until spring to hit a golf course
