I think you sort of answered your own question. If you can cover the gap between a 52 and your PW, then go for it. For me, I liked having a little less loft on my gap wedge to limit the number of times I had to hit 3/4 PW shots. But it sounds like you don't have that problem. My only advice, if possible, try out a few wedges and get the yardages you would hit them. Then see if and where you might have any yardage gaps.

It's very rare that I hit full shots with a 56 or a 60, but do with a gap wedge, so my current set up is 50, 56 and 60, which I've changed from 52,56 and 60.

I found the gap between my pw and previous 52 was too big and left me trying to a soft PW or a hard Gap. So I've moved to a 50 degree gap wedge and kept my 56 and 60 and so far seems ok. I like the 56 for chipping around the greens, and the 60 is great for a little flop shot here and there.

Actually, I just went the other way around. I've always had 52, 56, 60. I just got 50, 55 (54 bent to 55) , 60. I tried both a 54 bent to 55 and a 56 bent to a 55 and like the 54 bounce/turf reaction more. Still getting used to them, but I think it was the right move.

There is some logic behind your thoughts, nevertheless, you might want to consider that it isn't the 50's problem, if you have a consistent yardage gap in your wedges, you might not be hitting your PW long enough, do they all have the same specs?

Yes, I did that in the past and I didn't like my ball flight with a full 60, so I started playing 46,52,58 and added an extra hybrid to my bag
