San Lorenzo is really nice i am going in 3 weeks to play vale de lobo and the Quinta courses .
  3. Antony,
For the record, played those three last week - Morgado had just hosted a Challenge Tour event and the light rough was like elephant grass, Alamos was being repaired while still in play and both were very short of water!! Salgardos was ram jam full and the greens were rolling up like carpet when the ball hit them....
The Dom Pedro courses - Millennium & Laguna are big and open, Pinhal as the name suggests is laden with pine trees. All are good - Better than the NAU courses - while Victoria & Vilamoura Old Course are exciting and challenging in very different ways. More water on Vic with some heroic carries & big greens while the Old is more classic with smaller greens and a bit more of a strategic course if you want to score well. If you're in Vilamoura, they are all close and the transfers are brilliant.
The Armendeiros courses of O'Connor & Faldo are both excellent and the welcome & facilities are top drawer. Location issues half way between Albufiera and Morgado so the travel is OK
The Pestana courses are good - Vila Sol has 3 loops of 9 and provides good holiday golf. The others - Pinta, Gramacho etc are usually in good order as well.
    Enjoy

The Dom Pedro courses around Villamoura are lovely.

The Pinhal is a favourite of mine.
  7. All the courses at Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo are a must and also San Lorenzo
