I’ve got my full fitting on 26th with the Titleist rep in Glasgow, keeping my mind open to which model suits my game.

    Anyone else been fitted?

    Stuart,

Initially I wasn't that interested in the new T series irons as happy with my 916 AP1's, but after watching the Mark Crossfield reviews I'm considering giving the a go at my already booked (for a TS Hybrid fitting) Titleist Thursday next month.

Let us know what you think after 26th.

  4. Ant,
Fitted for the TS2 hybrid last Friday... Went intending to go for a U500/U510 but fell for the hybrid on the basis of the feel, easy to hit, greater flexibility, the incredible Trackman data and the raw ball-speed. Went for TS2 21*on 40" Hzrdus Smoke set at B1.
Wonder what you'll make of them?

Hoping we might get a hit at the TT day at St Ives in September

Tom - looking forward to how you found the clubs and the whole experience at fitting centre

Had my fitting at St Ives fitting centre with my filter Paul who was great. Decided on the T200 irons 2 degrees flat with Nippon NS Pro Modus 3 120 ( Band S2) shafts which gave a better flight and dispersion with 10 yards more distance. I might go for the 48 degree gap wedge or a Vokey equivalent. The T 200’s were so sweet to hit with the forged face the feel wasn’t any different than my 716 AP2,s.
So my order is about to be placed with my local pro as they don’t go on sale until the end of August and hopefully they will be in my bag around September.

Had a great fitting at St. Ives yesterday.

Currently I have 718 TMB's 3-9 in the bag 1/2" longer 2 deg up and Nippon Modus 3 120's Stiff. Before that I had 716 TMB 2-5 and 714 AP2 6-PW with KBS Shafts. Loved the TMB's in the long irons so went for the full set after a fitting. Over the last 2 years I've liked the full set of TMB but not loved them and really wanted to get back into an AP2 Style club.

I had my fitting with Dan, I've had quite a few fittings with him and he's great to work with, really knows his stuff. I launch the ball high (not intentionally!) , always get comments about how high I hit it. I know its a mainly my swing (having lessons at the mo) but I was looking for something to get launch and spin down!

Started off hitting the T100 with AMT White, nice shaft but not for me. Tried the T200 with AMT but personally I didn't like the feel and preferred the T100 so we went back working on that. We tried the Project X 6.0, KBS (lighter one, cant remember which) KBS Tour which I've had previously and DG S300. All felt good, gave similar distance numbers but the PX edged it for me. Launch was down a little, spin was lower and distance was up on average by a yard or so over the others and the feel was really good, which surprised me as I didn't like the PX's during my last fitting. Dan put the PX into a CB head and that felt amazing but numbers dropped a little and it was clear that the T100 was the club for me.

We then hit some 4irons, not with the surfeit system so just hit some with the AMT to have a look at it. Went onto the U500 and U510, 2 and 3 irons. They had the Hzardus Smoke shaft in, I hit both pretty good, very similar numbers but I prefer the look of the U500 over the ball so going for one of those. Again they don't have the surfeit system yet so I then hit a TS2 utility with the PX Evenflow 6.0 shaft in and that felt really good. I'm not a lover of utilities, I'd prefer a long iron but Dan suggested hitting it to have a look at shaft options as its utility shafts going into the U's.

Played a around a little with a PX shaft in a Vokey 46 deg as I currently game a raw SM7 46 with Modus and wanted to see how the PX performed. Worked really well so I will be getting my SM7 reshaft at some point.

We worked a little on the lofts as my TMB's were 1deg stronger than the T100's and in the interest of getting launch / spin down we are going to set the T100's up the same at 1 deg strong. I could have gone with the T200's as they stronger lofts but they are a whole club stronger which I didn't want to do and I didn't like the feel of them.

    So my order is already in;

    T100 - 4-PW - PX6.0 1/2" Longer, 1deg strong, 2 deg up.
    U500 - 2 Iron - PX Evenflow 6.0, 2 deg up.

Considering ordering a U500 4iron too, Dan said to go with the PX shafts same as my irons in that one if I go that route, have a couple of different options.
  8. Tom,
Was it just me or did you find the U510 bit, well, not to put too fine a point on it, loud....?

I went with the idea of moving into U500/U510's from my T-MB 4-iron but found significantly better results with the hybrids. Only swapped out my 818 17* hybrid for a TS2 18* 5wood a few weeks back and thought I was over hybrids, but the new TS2 hybrid 21* on a Hzrdus Smoke was the best I've ever hit. There was no need to thrash it - best results came from concentrating on strike.

    JT,

It was loud, I didn't really like the look of it from address but it took off like a rocket!!

    Huddersfield,

I was fitted by Titleist rep a couple of months ago at Oulton Hall near Leeds. This was on AP2’s and SM7’s with a project X 5.5 shaft. They felt amazing over my current irons which are now 6 years old. I’m currently planning to change over the winter/New Year and will go try the T range, probably with the same shaft. Can’t wait!
