  1. Hi everyone! As we are aware the dark nights are close upon us. With the season drawing too an end I have been thinking about the season I have just had! Some highs some lows as usual! Personally winning my club championship was my highlight! (and obviously my TT outings with the great ppl I have met this year!!)

What are your highlights from 2017's season?

  2. Hi Ross, it's been one of my best year's ever for golf experiences so I've a long list of highlights!
The Grove with you, Hannah and the other lucky Team Titleist guys.
The Berkshire, Sunningdale, Hankley Common and Blackmoor with the EAGT.
The Iceland adventure with Tom and Footjoy - that of course has to be my #1 golf experience ever!
    Woburn again with you guys.
The Pokémon annual golf tournament in California.
Getting fitted at Scotty Cameron's studio store and buying my beautiful MOTO.
Mostly maintaining my 2 handicap throughout the season.
Standing right behind Alex Noren as he hit is 2nd shot in to the 72nd hole at Wenworth, then watching Kaiser Chiefs play at the end of the day.
Finishing it off next week with a trip to Archerfield, North Berwick, and Gullane 2.
    It's been an unforgettable year!

Hi Ross , I managed to get to the Opening of the Fitting Centre at Craigielaw where we met with Stevie G and the Titleist Team , Met a great bunch of guys and an awesome Day had by all. Also got one of those nice emails from Hannah and i am to go back to Criagielaw for a fitting for the new 718 Range of Irons, Also managed to end the season with a lower HC than i started (Just).
  4. Simon that year will take some beating! I have had my best golf year, it all started back at the Grove. Thanks too Hannah!
I have just ordered my new irons dougie I went for the T-me 5-7 and ap-2 8-pw. Enjoy the fitting, I did my last fitting for them on the range at the British masters next too Andy Sullivan!

    Hi Ross,
The big plays for me this year is that I have been able to get out on the course much more than I have in recent years.
The Grove was a great day out even if we were robbed of victory!!
And the fitting day at St. Ives was fantastic - I have added an inch to my putter since being fitted properly and I am holing everything!!!
I have the 818 hybrids now and they are a vast improvement over my 913s but am still in two mins about which irons to go for - AP3 or AP1s.
  6. The overall highlight for me is playing Royal Birkdale thanks to Hannah and Team Titleist. The aura of the course, some of the stands from the open still being in place the history everything about it is just special. I know its expensive for a game of golf but if you guys are every in a position to play it dont give it s a second thought.

Actual golfing wise I managed to improve my Handicap from 9 to 7 and even shot a best ever +1 missing a birdie putt on the last to shoot level par. I am not hitting it any further and havent improved that much on my game apart from putting this year. I was fitted for a new Scotty in June and after a month of getting used to the weight everything just seems to be going in!

Looking forward to practising over the winter with the new irons and hopefully will get some new Hybrids after christmas.
  7. How good was that day at the Grove though James!! That really was the start too a great year!! I have just had my putter done aswell! Waiting for my new irons too arrive now and then the serious practice starts!! Chris Birkdale is a special place would love too play it some day! I watched the open there this year looks tough!

Good subject Ross and congrats on a great year!

I've had a strange year, I really haven't played a lot of golf, 9 rounds in total at my home club, all competition rounds (2 being in the club champ!) That's only 8 times this year I have visited my club, no general play, no practice!

    But then....

I played the Heritage at London Club in March then Royal County Down and Portrush back at the end of April, played decent enough too.
The Grove in May, didn't play great on the day but contributed a little to a great team of Jess, Simon and James and we came away with the prizes!
Bearwood Lakes in July with the Cameron guys.
A couple of the usual Opens I play with some good scores mid season.
Iceland Trip with Simon and the FJ guys in July which was the highlight of my golfing year!
Woburn in August where the series was tied at 1-1 !

I feel like I'm missing something but cant think at the moment!

Although I haven't played much and haven't practiced I played pretty decent this year and was able to keep my 6 handicap which I was happy about.
  9. Tom that's some year really mate!! I think the Iceland trip kinda makes up for the lack of rounds on you own course. Considering you haven't practiced much keeping the 6 handicap is an achievement.
Hopefully we can get a round in over the winter!!
