Happy New Year TT Community! We are planning a trip to the AC Area for early October 2022 and looking for some course recommendations. The one's I am looking at right now - 1. Shore Gate 2. Twisted Dune 3. Ballamor

In previous years we have played Seaview (Pines & Bay Courses), Cape May National, McCulough's Emerald, Great Bay Country Club & Scotland Run. Also played AC Country Club which I understand is now private.

Let me know your thoughts - both good & bad experiences.

first of all, ACCC isn't private. It's owned and managed by the same group that runs Scotland Run & Ballamor. I haven't played there in a few years, but I heard that they redid the bunkers, which is good since they tended to have lots of small stones.

otherwise, the three courses listed are all good choices. A few other options are Renault Winery Golf and if you have a connection, Gallaway National, which is private.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply. Interesting on ACCC, I was told it was switching to a private club this year. I played Renault Winery a couple years ago; from what I recall it was a nice course but nothing really sticks out. I will definitely see what I can do about Galloway.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
My buddy’s and I take a yearly trip to AC. We usually play 36/day for 3 days. Without a doubt my favorite course there is Twisted Dunes, followed by Ballamor, then Blue Heron Pines. These 3 are staples of our trip every year. Then we try to add in some new ones. We have played all the ones you mentioned above and again I’d rate my 3 higher than the ones you mentioned.

Blue Heron is on the easier side so we use it as our warm up course on day 1. Beautiful layout with a GREAT restaurant for food and drinks. Also across the street from the air national guard so not unusual to see fighter jets screaming above you. It’s pretty cool and will stop you in your tracks to watch them practice.

Twisted Dunes is one of my all time favorite courses. This should be your top priority to play. The people there are so incredibly nice and accommodating. Incredible layout, beautiful links style that will challenge every part of your game. Always in top shape. Bring a couple extra balls.

Ballamor is another top rated course down there. Feels like a championship level course. Another course usually in immaculate shape and just beautiful. Fun and challenging holes, hard yet fair. I just love it there. They have incredible Arnold Palmers in the clubhouse!

-Reach out if you have any questions. Man, with 8 inches of snow falling here on Long Island, thinking about these courses is getting me excited for our trip at the end of June. Best of luck!

Much appreciated. I'm a big fan of Twisted Dunes too. I highly recommend you check out Shore Gates.

If you've got a connection, Hidden Creek is incredible.

Wade, I actually had the pleasure of playing Hidden Creek in an outing last year - the course and entire facility are amazing! I definitely want to get on this course again!

Can’t go wrong with your 3 selections. Shore Gate and Ballamor are both nice tracks, with Shore Gate being the more challenging of the two. But staff at Ballamor is great. Good friend of mine built/owned Ballamor when it was first private. We played there late last Summer and he was impressed they have the course conditions like a private club. Enjoy!
