  1. Hello everyone!! I have a buddy of mine that has recently got engaged and he wants to go on a golfing trip as a bachelor party. There will be 6-10 of us going. Just seeing what all courses are everybody’s favorite around the south. We are from Alabama and don’t want to have to travel super far away. Any thoughts or ideas?

Give this a shot if you want to stay in Alabama. Bobby Jones trail in your state is always a good track. Vol nation says, ROLL TIDE.

This may seem silly, but my winter golf trips had often been to various points on the RTJ Trail. What about Ross Bridge? I'm partial to Cambrian Ridge, but this course is really difficult in winter due to dormant fairways and the areas around the green. I've seen many 'good' shots roll off greens into water near the greens.

What time of year are you planning the bachelor party?

You are not far from Pinehurst. I am going there in 3 weeks and I have heard it is awesome.
  5. Hi, if you want to go as far as Florida, Innisbrook was a good time. Just as long as the significant others are okay with the boys going to Tampa given the attractions and distractions. If you do go, bring cards, they were a no cash facility on our trip.

Bandon Dunes.... Easily the best value and several top 100 courses.... Theres a reason why you most likely wont get on because it must be booked at least a year in advance!

Best bet would be Pinehurst or Streamsong.

Years ago, about 8 of us used to go to Myrtle Beach for a few years. The Breakers Hotel used to have a great 4 day/5 night package. You could pick from about 20 different courses. The package included hotel stay and all green and cart fees.

If it's in your budget, I've heard Streamsong is a great venue for a buddies trip. It's on my list to visit.
  9. You can't go wrong with RTJ trail being so close...Ross Bridge is beautiful.

We went to Gulf shores on my bachelor party. We played Craft Farms and Kiva Dunes. It was hot, but we had a blast.

Have you been to Pursell Farms yet?

We did a bachelor trip to Fairhope and stayed at the Grand and played Lakewood. I was blown away at how nice Lakewood and specifically the greens there were. Also played Rock Creek in Daphne.

Lots of options down around Biloxi.

Lots of good golf options on the beach too from Gulf Shores to PCB.

Being from Alabama, you can't go wrong with the RTJ Trail. It has been mentioned a few times on this thread. I went last year with my son in mid-March. Courses were in great shape for the weather. I know they get more lush later in the year but we really enjoyed every place we played. The great thing about the Trail is that all of the course sites are different and have their own feel. My two favorites are Capitol Hill and Cambrian Ridge. Capitol Hill has 3 courses (2 parkland, 1 links).

Each site has at least 27 holes some have 36 or more. You can play 36 in a day easy. Ross Bridge is the only 18 hole facility. Haven't played that one yet but will.

I am going again in May for my son's birthday. We are playing The Shoals, Hampton Cove, Silver Lakes and Capitol Hill (Judge and Senator). Playing 36 each day.
