Got a trip in a week to Bend, and have never been. We’ve got a couple courses lined up, but any tips on anything else in the area not to miss?

Got to play Tetherow and Crosswater when we were there a couple of years ago. Both courses were top shelf.

There are many great courses in Bend, but what Edward G did not mention is to play Crosswater (great course!), is you need to either stay at Sunriver resort (not a rental), or be a property owner in order to play it. If you belong to a private club at home, you might want to see if you can do a exchange play and get on at Brasada Ranch, or plan on staying there, again, stay or be anowner. Pronghorn has two courses, the public (Nicklaus) side is a great track with some wonderful views and challenges alike. They also has the private (Fazio) course, again, stay or be an owner. Along with Tetherow, these are all high end top dollar courses, not sure of your budget. Other really good courses include Aspen Lakes (Sisters) about a 20-30 min drive pending where you are staying, Lost Tracks which is at the south end of Bend and short drive from Sunriver. Eagle Crest west of Redmond has two courses along with a executive courseand cool putting course. Others include Widgi Creek, Riverside, Juniper, and Crooked River. All these are good tracks and are enjoyable along with challenging for all to some extent! Have a wonderful time, Bend is a great location and offers something for everyone! Hit 10 Barrel or Crux for a post round beverage too!

It's a shame the OP didn't tell us about his trip. Bend has many, many terrific courses. Being from western Oregon, I see a lot of mountain type courses with tall trees and lush surroundings. Bend is in the high desert and is completely different though it is a mere three hour drive from my home.
