  1. Just got back from North Myrtle Beach golf trip. Played Arcadian Shores, Tidewater, Barefoot Dye, and Grande Dunes. Tidewater was amazing. Where do you guys go on golf trips? Switching it up next year.

Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Hawaii, California........depends on where my wife and I are going on vacation....will sometimes drive up to Myrtle Beach, Santee, Aiken, Florence or down to Hilton Head for a day or to play in a tournament......we have a lot of great courses in SC so every day is a golf trip, in a sense. Being retired makes it easy.

This year was cut short due to surgery but went to Myrtle Beach, San Diego and Palm Springs. Last year was Phoenix/Scottsdale, South Florida/Miami, and Albuquerque. Live in Texas and will do all the metro areas usually once a year as well.

Sounds like the courses were in good shape and glad to hear you had a good trip. I assume the fairways and greens have healed from the damage caused during the winter from 2018? I was there last summer and courses I played all had mostly mud for greens.

I assume you are referring to the hard freezes we hard along the coast in late 2017 and early 2018. You must have been up there in the early spring 2018. Springtime along the coast is our rainy season, which I am sure did not help the issue. We did not have the hard freezes in late 2018 and early 2019 and the courses along the coast should be in good shape this year. A number of superintendents lost their jobs in 2018, because of that frigid weather in MB and Charleston. Unfortunately, mother nature can be brutal at times and sometimes they can only do so much short of re sodding. They worked very hard to get them ready for the tourist season in 2018. The azaleas starting blooming a month early this year due to the warm conditions. It is amazing that June, July, August is the busy season, down here, because that is the hottest time of the year (temperature/humidity).

My wife and I enjoy the southern end of Myrtle Beach (Litchfield, Murrells Inlet, Garden City Beach). It's a little less crowded and there is a quantity and quality of courses, lodging and dining.
