Thanks all for your responses. I did throw it in the gentle cycle and it came out looking and smelling like new. It took a while to dry out, but that was to be expected.

I do that for my hats and let them air dry and they are nice and clean.

I think if you washed it on a cold gentle cycle and then let it air dry you should be good to go!

Maybe try a good spray on fabric cleaner first?

I would probably just wipe it down with a soapy rag then rinse it off outside and let dry in the sun.
Would hate to ruin the zippers or the bag in the washer.

My guess is its sturdy enough to handle a washing machine in the gentle cycle. I would air dry it as opposed to putting it in a dryer. Give us an update if you decide to go this route.
