It’s been an exciting week out in the desert as Master Craftsman Bob Vokey and his team have been introducing the all-new SM9 wedges to Team Titleist at The American Express.

And while we were with our resident wedge experts out at PGA West, we had them answer a few of Team Titleist’s burning questions about all things Vokey Wedges.

Our most common question being… What’s the difference between the SM8 and the SM9 wedges. But, you’ll have to wait just a little longer to find that out. :)

Take a look at some of their answers below and make sure you're following all of our social channels to get the latest on all-things SM9.

What is the reason for Vokey Design Wedgeworks?

Should your sand wedge have a different grind than your lob wedge?

What's the most versatile grind and bounce option for a lob wedge?

What's the inspiration behind the look of the new SM9 wedges?

What's the difference between the M and the T grind?

    What's Aaron Dill's favorite wedge?

Will the 54 M grind come back in the SM9 release ?

When I got fitted for my Vokey wedges 2 years ago, I was told "bounce is your friend" and so both my 52 and 58 wedges have 12 degrees of bounce. Thinking the 52 has an excessive amount and should go to a 8 degrees this spring. Leave the 58 with the same bounce and grind. Primarily play on public courses in the midwest.

    Thoughts?

If you were fitted for a generation of Vokey wedge (SM7) will your specs transfer to a newer generation of wedge (SM9)?

Was fitted for a SM7 58.12D at the Vokey experience by Bob and his team a few years ago and a great wedge for me. Am wanting to move up this year. Play a 53W that comes with my T300 irons. Have been told that a SM9 52.08 F would be a good replacement for that and am curious about the T as a possible in the 58.12. Have at least six feet plus bunkers on twelve of our holes. Advice.

Thank you. Always a joy to listen to the Wedge Masters
  8. This is the year i get fitted properly for wedges. My short game has suffered for far too long!!! I heard they are going to do pre-orders and fittings on 2/17.

Will they be available for real in March or just pretend available like the T series irons?

Just curious as I haven't seen any info about the new or updated tech behind the SM9. Especially as the price has shot up $20 for stock pieces, this over the $10 increase for the SM8s. I'm sure part of this is supply chain-related as prices in general have moved higher for gear, balls, etc.
