Putters are personal. We all have our favorite styles and shapes, and the ultimate goal is to find that one flat stick that just suits your eye. Personally, I've tried just about every shape that Scotty Cameron offers and usually gravitate toward one of his mid-mallet designs. So I thought it would be fun to see what all of you had to say when it comes to a favorite putter shape.

Been playing only blades the last 10 or 12 years. For the last six years it's been a SC Newport 2 Select.
  3. Love my mallet.

    I have a Newport 2, Newport 2 Notchback and a Phantom X 5.5...right now gaming the Phantom because it's working :-)

Anything outside of what I call a traditional style looking putter has always been a distraction to me at address. My brother had a 2 ball cally putter I used when I borrowed his clubs & it never looked square at address to me.
I did putt ok with it but it was hard not to turn it closed or open thinking it wasn't square to my line.

Mid-Mallets had always looked good to me.
  7. I've always loved playing a blade. Recently got lucky enough to order a TM MyTP Juno which is just the best roll I've found for me.

Newport 2 and Napa are tried and true. If you haven't put either one in your bag, them a try.

Been a blade/009 guy since beginnings, but the JT mallet has perked my interest..... Gotta stick with the 009 though!
  12. Several years ago I went for a putter fitting for a Scotty. I’ve swapped between all brands for years and really wanted a Scotty blade, so sexy!! After the fitting ended up with a mallet to match my stroke to my surprise. Still using it and haven’t looked back.
  13. Gaming the Phantom X 6 STR right now....the balanced face coupled with the BGT Stability Tour Black Out shaft is a beautiful combination.....

I've tried two of the three SC styles and had mixed success with each. I have an old Answer that I putt well with, but nothing so far has matched the feel of my 53 year old Acushnet Bullseye, S-5-M, so I've got that back in the bag again.

Many Newport2 Putter since 1998. I think it’s time to switch to a more mallet style.
  16. But I prefer center shafted blade. Not many of those extant...

I enjoy playing my mallet putter but I want to get fitted for the new Phantom X 5. The look of that putter really fits my eye and what I’m looking for in a new putter. I’m highly in need of a face milled putter over the current gamer because of how sandy it is where I’m located. Hopefully one day soon I’ll be able to get a Scotty in my bag!

Was a blade player for decades but switched to a mid-mallet a couple years ago and won't look back.
  20. Blade for me… I’m old school and have a Wilson blade from the 80’s that I’m not sure I can ever replace!

Tried a Mallet when I bought a new putter last year and took it back to Roger Dunn the next week to exchange back to my Blade. I just could not get the line right. I learned then, if its not broke.... why fix it?
