I was just watching Barstool Foreplay Golf with Kevin Kisner & Scott Brown and heard Kisner playing music in the background.

First off I wanna say I bet Kisner would be a blast to play with.

But I was really curious if anyone knows of golf pro playlists and if they could link them or even articles. I typically play some music in the background while playing with my buddies and am always interested what the pros listen to or practice to at least.

If you don't have a playlist what are your top 5 go to songs while on the course if you play music.

I tend to stick to classic rock. For the most part it something that most golfers enjoy or least tolerate. In the end, anything but country for me. Bob Marley and is also one of my favorites.

    Smooth Jazz or Reggae.......

Loud enough for me to enjoy, but not others!

I am rather fond of the natural music from birds chirping, the wind blowing through the trees, the sound of a well struck shot. Save the music for the 19th hole. Guess I'm just "old school".

I agree. Just not a fan of out loud music on the golf course. If someone wants to listen to music while playing, that’s cool, just put in headphones so it’s not a distraction to everyone else. Life is so crazy and loud for me (I’m a high school teacher and have two very young kids at home) One of the reasons I love golf so much is because it’s an escape from all of that. I prefer the quiet and sounds of nature while golfing, it’s relaxing to me. Also, anytime I have tried to listen to music while hitting balls on the range, I have found that it messes up my swing as I tend to swing to the tempo of whatever song is on and it screws up my own swing rhythm and golf tempo. Guess I’m just old school as well. So in other words...get off my lawn, haha lol

Not for me im afraid. I did read an article years ago by our own Monty, he said he always listened to classical / relaxing music on his way to the course, he claimed it calmed him down.....well it seemed to help him control his temper ...........

If you want to listen to music you can always get a job in a CD shop. I'm with Dale.

Music & golf I have tried to marry but it doesn't work for me. I tried chipping, putting, hitting on the range. Yes it relaxed me, but my focus was not spot on for golf as I tried to listen to the song playing to see if it energized me on my next shot. Well it didn't.

If I did listen it would be classic rock, mixed in with some R & B.

The majority of the time I’d rather not listen to music. If I do listen to music I’d prefer oldies or classic rock.

60'S AND 70'S for me. Play with someone who plays music in the cart. Keeps it low so you have to be right next to his cart to hear it. Like to hear it in between shots and if we have to wait on the tee. I don't do this for a living and I like to have some fun out there. Like Trevino and Fuzzy used to say, " It only takes about 15 minutes of actual swing time to hit all the shots for 18 holes. What do you with the other 3 hours and 45 minutes? "

Exactly, If you do it respectfully there should be no issues and if playing with someone new, simply ask! Not like brawls going to break out if they dont like music.

More pressing things to worry about on the course, no rakes, water, trash cans, fixing others ball marks and SLOW Play!

I never play my own, but if someone in the foursome wants to listen to it, by all means. As long as it's not too loud, and it's country!!!

Depends on the mood, if my buddy and I are drinking beers and playing casual I like to throw on some music, could be rock, rap or country depending on the mood. If I’m paired up with other people or by myself I don’t listen to music.

I don't take golf too seriously (don't keep score most of the time, not a stickler for the rules, etc...) so I don't mind some music in the cart. Keeps it fun and relaxing.
  19. For me, only during practice at the driving range. My preference is Bonobo Radio streaming on Pandora....mostly for tuning out range neighbors whose conversations are bit on the loud side recounting the previous weekend’s heroics......

Years back we did the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator study at work. Very interesting stuff and I think it may be the single most revelation in my understanding of myself and other people's personalities. Being an INTJ and strong on the "introverted" characteristic, I re-energize by finding quiet solitude. After being in the office all day and dealing with lots of people, a quiet walk of 9 holes alone in the evening does wonders for me. No music, no talk, just relaxing. That said, extroverts that have been locked at home all day would invigorated by the energy of a crowd or music. I understand the different needs of all therefore I am pretty understanding when paired with players that need to talk or play music. Just not my personal preference. That said, back to the original question... If you play music while playing golf with me, please bring your 70's rock or soft rock. James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Stones, Fleetwood Mac, etc. Not too loud. Thanks!

I love music and have a rather awesome collection (close to 20,000 selections) of many genres. My favorites 60's, 70's, Blues, R&B, and Country Classics. I download to USB drives and enjoy listening to them on my way to and from the course. Do not listen to music it when I am on the range or when I am playing. Agree 100% with Dale. "Focus on the task at hand and prepare for the next shot".

Listen to "Don't worry be happy", by Bobby McFerrin and see how long that ditty stays in your head.

    With respect to all opinions.

Think its a song lyric. Silence is Golden.

Anyway, I don't want anything distracting my cussin'.

I'll put in the bluetooth ear buds on the range when I want to work on things and not be disturbed. Casual outings, like scrambles and on oft-appearing drink cart - crank it. Casual rounds with a couple friends and not a lot of folks around, sure, love some tunes. But any half-serious round, no music.

I'm a classic rock guy. Detest rap and the flat brimmed hats.

I'm good with or without music. So when one of the group guys starts playing it, it doesn't bother me unless it's annoying in front of my shot. But mostly what Rick D mentioned during games.

I reserve a few solo rounds on my own. I play music at times or a few holes, but most the time not. I like a wide variety of music and I love music- I've played music professionally for many years, many kinds of music, I like most of it. I even listen to some rap when I'm waiting for a light to turn green on the streets.
